October might almost be over, but that doesn’t mean that Team Hoboken Girl hasn’t made the most of the past month. As Hoboken + Jersey City locals, we’re always on the lookout for fun, exciting new things to try and do locally. In fact, we love a few local treats so much that we’ve decided to give them a full-fledged shout out. Keep reading to find out what Team Hoboken Girl has been loving this month.

Jennifer, Hoboken Girl Founder + CEO

“The Subia’s veggie wrap is out-of-this-world with cashew cheese + a side of tortilla chips. It’s my go-to Jersey City vegan spot. There’s also a vintage shop I just popped into next to the Hoboken Fire Museum that is a must-visit. They have wonky hours, but it’s worth a pass-by between 2nd and 3rd on Bloomfield in Hoboken.”

Kate, Event Marketing Coordinator

My monthly pick is a chiropractic treatment from the Hudson Family Chiropractic team. The change in season/weather always leaves me with headaches when it first happens, and after a few trips to see the team there, I’m feeling great again!”

Devin, Marketing Associate

My monthly pick is the choco-chip cookie with sea salt from Baking Mama. Jen and Team HG got me some cookies from Baking Mama for my birthday and the choco-chip with sea salt was delicious.”

Morgan, Marketing Writer + Editor

My monthly pick is the Essential Pedi from The V Spot Nail Spa.”

“My monthly pick is the iced pumpkin spice latte from Bean Vault — it’s sweet but not super sweet, so it’s a nice drink to beat that midday slump without being too sugary!”

“I’m loving the gorgeous change in season and am ready for all things fall. Zog Flag Football has been on my schedule this month and I’m loving the outdoor exercise as well as meeting fun new people on other teams. I’ve been obsessing over the Clean Complexion Smoothie at Shaka Bowl and pairing that with some post-summer facials at Downtown Medspa. Ever since I went to France and England this in July, I have been trying out different restaurants and cafes like La Bouche and can’t get enough of the {ham + cheese} crepes.”

Stas, Graphics Designer

“An iced hazelnut latte from Empire — it’s sweet and so amazing. Every time I walk past Empire. I can’t help but get something because the smell of coffee is so incredible.”

Jordan and Joelle, Contributing Writers + Volunteer Coordinators

“Our monthly pick is the refreshing classes from Urban Souls immediately followed by fuel from Playa Bowls!”

“I am loving the oat milk lattes from The Grind Coffee Shop made with Oatly Oat Milk! They are vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and delicious!”

Francesca, Contributing Writer

“This month I’m loving working out with ClassPass in Hoboken. There are so many great boutique fitness studios here, but I’ve been hesitant to invest in a membership at one particular place because I like having variety in my exercise routine. ClassPass members have access to tons of participating gyms {Prime Cycle, Surya Yoga Academy, Work it Out, and The Bar Method are just a few of the gyms I’ve visited since joining in July} without having to pay the hefty price tag of a boutique gym membership. I love taking hot yoga classes in the early morning and spin classes on the weekend. I even took a boxing class at Everlast Lab. I highly recommend this app to anyone who gets bored of doing the same workouts and likes new challenges!”

Victoria, Contributing Writer

My monthly pick would be the Hoboken postcards sold at the Hoboken Fire Museum. Two for $1. [It’s a] nice variation of pictures from different era’s in town.”

Nadine, Contributing Writer

My monthly pick is fresh-squeezed OJ from Dulce de Leche Bakery in West New York. With the seasons changing and colds going around, it’s the perfect defense against the sniffles.”

Neha, Contributing Writer

“I am currently loving the long-sleeved t-shirt from Bum Pilates. It’s soft, perfect for fall layering over a sports bra or work out tank and reminds me to be nice if I haven’t had my coffee yet.”

Yiwei, Contributing Writer

“I’m loving the mini babka from Choc O Pain — a French take of the tradition babka. [It’s] flaky, airy, with just the right amount of stretch and moist dark chocolate crumbs. [It’s] best with black coffee. I’m also loving the flank taco from Taqueria Downtown Catering Co — it’s surprisingly juicy and tender for this tough cut of beef, minimally spiced with onion to preserve the beefiness of the flesh. “
