This Mile Square gym specializes in CrossFit. Those interested can purchase the monthly unlimited membership, which comes with access to competitions, CrossFit, HIIT, open gym, running, and seminars, for $240, or the standard open gym membership for $130 per month.

Crunch Hoboken offers group fitness classes, a fully equipped heavy weight section, cardio machines, and more, all with an incredible waterfront view.  The most popular membership tier is the All Crunch package at $119.25 a month, which gives members multi-club access on a month-to-month basis. Initial fees to sign up come out to a one-time purchase of $238.90, and perks include assisted recovery sessions like a massage chair and red light therapy lounge. 

Fitness Factory Health Club | 130 Washington Street

Fitness Factory has around 15 locations in the New York and New Jersey area and focuses on nutrition just as much as physical activity to achieve overall fitness. The Hoboken location has a few options for membership: CityPass Basic at $59.99 a month, Plus at $69.99 a month, and CityPass Prime at $74.99 a month. 

Hudson River Athletics | 333 Newark Street

Hudson River Athletics has two types of class packs to choose from — a 12-class pack and a 24-class pack. Each one has a one-year expiration date, so you can use it on your own schedule. The 12-class pack is $300, and the 24-class pack is $550, and there’s also the option to upgrade to one of the various unlimited memberships, listed here.

NYSC | 210 14th Street 

NYSC is one of the only gyms uptown and has a full suite of weights, treadmills, lifting machines, and more. The club also has personal trainers for an added fee and group fitness classes such as yoga, zumba, 30-minute core, Pilates, and cycling. There are different membership options that start at $50.

Planet Fitness charges $15 a month for a basic membership, which gives members access to their home club. The basic option also has a $1 startup fee and a $59 yearly fee. The Planet Fitness Black Card is $29/month and gives members access to any club location with the option to bring a guest as well as online classes. The same startup and annual fee apply.

Stop Crying Studio | 564 1st Street

Jon P opened this unique studio after his move from Kuwait to Hoboken in 2020. The small gym is a full-service, integrated exercise and nutrition center run by Jon P himself, who is a Master-Level Personal Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach. All classes are private and based on availability.

Xcel Hoboken | 125 Marshall Street

Xcel Hoboken is a rooftop gym that has a pool, a great choice for those brave enough to sign up for a Triathlon, or who are just into swimming some laps. The most popular membership option is a basic package at $109 a month with a 12-month commitment and no enrollment fee. Members who only want a six-month commitment are charged $119 a month; three months for $129 a month; and one month for $149 a month.

Barry’s Bootcamp | 119 River Street, Suite A

Coming soon to the Mile Square, Barry’s will provide boutique fitness classes combining high-intensity interval training on the treadmill with weights and other floor exercises. Its memberships include eight classes for $255 a month, 12 classes for $327 a month, 16 classes for $399 a month, and 30 classes a month for $476.

BFT Hoboken | 770 Jackson Street 

Body Fit Training, or BFT, combines progressive programming, a personal training experience, and gym equipment. The business was founded in the Land Down Under by Cameron Falloon, who has a background in leading strength training and conditioning programs for professional soccer players. The gym operates on a unique class schedule designed by Falloon. First-timers get their first session free. 

Bloom Pilates | 632 Washington Street

Bloom Pilates is a reformer-based Pilates studio tucked away on Washington Street. The space is cozy, providing an intimate workout experience for guests.

CKO Kickboxing | 900 Madison Street

CKO has traditional kickboxing classes with some cardio and strength incorporated exercises as well. First-timers can claim two classes for $40. 

Cyclebar | 720 Monroe Street, Suite C301

This cycling spot provides cycling classes led by experienced instructors. Its memberships include options like four rides for $109 per month, eight rights for $159 per month, and unlimited rides for $199 per month.

The DRIP | 44 Hudson Place + 1427 Grand Street

This studio was started by two women in 2020 with a camera to stream virtual classes from their apartment. Since then, it has expanded to multiple locations in New Jersey, including two studios in Hoboken, with another Montclair location on the way. The Drip offers a variety of sculpt, burn, Pilates, and cycle classes designed for all fitness levels.

Impact Hoboken opened its doors in 2021. The founder worked as a Barre and Megaformer Pilates instructor at [solidcore] in New York City.  Impact offers a variety of classes from yoga to sculpt, barre, strength, and more. The studio offers an unlimited monthly membership for $195 with a 12-month commitment of $225 a no-commitment option. There are also various class pack options, from a drop-in single class to a ten-class pack.

Its newly renovated infrared studio is home to the studio’s flagship Fast Burn and Slow Burn sculpt classes, as well as traditional mat pilates and even yoga. Prices vary from $150 to $350, depending on what kind of combination of classes members would like.

Project Sculpt | 319 Washington Street

Project Sculpt studios provide both personal training and group workout classes. The method is 45 minutes of body sculpting rep schemes targeting specific muscles, blended with cardio on machines called Technogym Skillmills. A drop-in class is $40, but customers can also buy an 8-class pack for $160 with a one-month expiration.

SoulCycle | 1400 Washington Street

SoulCycle is a chain of cycling spots. Riders can purchase four classes for $143 per month, eight classes for $278 per month, 12 classes for $411 per month, or 16 classes for $528 per month.

The Studio touts itself as Hoboken’s first and only dance studio for adults. New members can get their first two classes for $30. The Studio offers a variety of classes, but owner Lauren Greenwood says that each class experience will depend on the genre, but the general basis is a warmup followed by some technique work. From there, you’re learning or working on techniques from a combination, and then finally moving into learning the combination.

Sweat Science Labs | 358 Newark Street 

Sweet Science Labs has both gym classes and personal training. It’s an independent training gym and gives up-and-coming fitness instructors a chance to grow their business. Prices vary anywhere from $99 to $199. .

Zapp Fitness | 84 Washington Street 

Zapp is a high-end fitness facility providing group classes and private sessions with experienced trainers, such as cardio, strength, HIIT, and more. For a limited time, new customers can enjoy an unlimited class membership for $139 a month, normally a $199 value. Other membership options include a 10-class pack for $250 and a one-class pass for $30.
