Plans emerged in 2019 for a redevelopment property called The Constantine, featuring 23 residential units atop a ground-floor commercial space, potentially housing Malibu 2.0. The Babalis family, owners of Malibu, endorsed the plans, opting for the building’s demolition to meet modern construction standards. The site, marketed as luxury apartments with a rooftop deck and parking, is set to open in 2024, potentially signaling the anticipated return of the beloved diner.
