The Best Martini Spots in Hoboken + Jersey City

Written by:

Believe it or not, winter is coming. We have said farewell to frosé and had our share of all the pumpkin beers. Martinis are up next! Nothing beats a martini on a cold winter night at a {socially-distant} bar with your friends {six feet apart}. Lucky for us, Hoboken and Jersey City have quite the list of places where you can find the perfect martini for your taste. Dirty, shaken, stirred, espresso — they’re all here.

Steaks are the #1 here, but so are the drinks at Dino’s — and old school vibes, of course. On nights when you’re looking for some live music, you might find a piano player tickling the ivories. End your meal with a Snowboken, of course.

HG Tip: Order the dirty, obviously.

Grand Vin {500 Grand Street, Hoboken}

Oh, Grand Vin. Hoboken adores this restaurant and wine bar. The ambiance is chic and cozy, the food is always on point, and the drinks are fabulous. Come for the wine, stay for the martinis. Their dirty martinis do not disappoint and pair great with the short ribs.

HG Tip: Grand Vin makes a killer espresso martini that will keep you coming back for more.

Northern Soul Kitchen + Bar {700 1st Street, Hoboken}

Come for the buffalo cauliflower – stay for the espresso martinis. Visit Northern Soul‘s new Soul Shacks for a chill day or night out with friends. Jersey City Martinis

Dullboy {364 Grove Street, Jersey City}

Dullboy in Jersey City is mixing up some creative and fun cocktails. They have small plates to soak up the booze, like shrimp bao buns and sweet potato hummus. The cocktails are super different and flavorful, and their martinis are nice and robust. They have a fantastic outdoor set up with heat lamps and outdoor movie nights every Sunday.

Edward’s Steakhouse {239 Marin Boulevard, Jersey City}

Edward’s Steakhouse

Whether your dining in or staying outside this holiday season, Edward’s Steakhouse in Jersey City offers a dreamy ambiance, well-cooked steak, and ice-cold martinis. Take a seat at their outdoor bar and sip on the martini of your choosing. Our Managing Editor, Amanda Lederman, is sure it’s one of the best dirty martinis she’s ever had.

Liberty Prime Steakhouse {111 Montgomery Street, Jersey City}

Liberty Prime Steakhouse

We love a steakhouse, and this Jersey City gem does not disappoint! There is nothing like a filet with blue cheese stuffed olive martini on the side. Pop on over to Liberty Prime Steakhouse and take a bite {and sip} out of what they have to offer.

Madame Claude Bis

Beyond the exquisite French food at this Jersey City spot, Madame Claude Bis serves up some incredible martinis — especially its dirty. One of the coziest spots to enjoy downtown, it’s a go-to for a meal + cocktail situation if you’re in the mood.

Matthews Food & Drink {351 Grove Street, Jersey City}

Matthews is known for its incredible brunch and glittery cocktails. They also have a fantastic espresso martini with cinnamon.

HG Tip: Technically the ’80s glam glitter cocktail is not a martini, but it’s STILL their most noteworthy shop stopper.
