Team HG’s Night Out at Maddy Rose
Arriving at Maddy Rose restaurant feels something like arriving at a secret, exclusive dinner party. The restaurant is tucked behind a private driveway, nestled inside Liberty House’s event spaces boasting a vibrant and lively atmosphere.
Seafood lovers will find a new local favorite at this JC spot. Team HG split the Maddy Rose seafood tower, which was stacked with caviar-topped oysters, shrimp, scallop ceviche, and tuna tartare. Some other foodie highlights included the autumn harvest salad, the roasted salmon, and of course, the flat iron steak.
We’d be remiss not to mention the cocktails. The mixologists at Maddy Rose are serving up a curated menu of specialty bevvies, each one a unique rendition on a classic drink. Our favorites were the “basic b marg” and the “fig me the old fashioned way.” You can probably guess what bar staples these drinks are modeled after, but trust us when we say that they’re bringing a new meaning to dinner and drinks.
Dessert on a night out is practically mandatory, so naturally we ordered the bread pudding (and can confirm: it’s worth every bite). Maddy Rose has a back patio lined with cabanas and fire pits with a backdrop of unmatched NYC views, which is where we enjoyed all of our dessert indulgences. The nightcap of all nightcaps, there is also an espresso martini tower on the menu, which pairs perfectly with the bread pudding and the Manhattan skyline.

Landmark Hospitality recently opened Maddy Rose (whose name was Inspired by co-founders Frank and Jeanne Cretella’s daughter Maddy) in Jersey City this past August, featuring incredible Mediterranean-inspired food and stunning views of the Manhattan skyline.
“Located inside the renowned hospitality group’s flagship property off of the picturesque Hudson River, Liberty House, in what once was formerly known as the Liberty House Restaurant, Maddy Rose aims to reinvigorate the space with a fresh, Mediterranean-inspired concept where guests revel in both scenic views and an upscale dining experience,” said Maddy Cretella of Maddy Rose.
The venue boasts a reimagined dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the NYC skyline, outdoor gardens, and cabanas. The restaurant’s fresh take on coastal Greek and Italian cuisine can be paired with delicious craft cocktails for an immersive and luxurious dining experience surrounded by gardens and the landscape of Liberty State Park.
As an added personal touch, roses are featured throughout the dining experience as a tribute to Maddy Rose and her influence in this new venture.

Maddy Rose provides extensive dinner, brunch, and dessert menus curated by Chef Anthony Bucco. Its dinner menu features small plates noted as “Snackables” like the Citrus Grilled Shrimp and Steak Tartare, as well as entrees noted as “Craveables” like the Golden Grain Harvest Bowl, Pan Seared Tuna, Liberty burger, and more. The menu also includes “Shareables” like the Whole Red Snapper and the Angry ‘Two-Tail’ Lobster, and vegetable-forward sides like roasted mushroom and grilled broccolini.
Menu standouts at the Jersey City restaurant include its raw bar with East and West Coast oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, + the Maddy Rose Tower, and a selection of dry-aged meats including the 12 oz. ribeye and porterhouse for two from its highly regarded in-house butchers.
As for brunch, you can feast on dishes like Farmhouse Frittata, Truffled Eggs, Bison Hanger Steak + Eggs, and more. Desserts at Maddy Rose include Flourless Chocolate Cake, Passion Fruit Cheesecake, Caramel Tiramisu, and Tres Leches.

For those looking for something new and fun to do, Maddy Rose hosts unique monthly events — perfect for date night or an evening out with best friends.
This month, you can join Maddy Rose for its Harvest Cocktail Dinner on October 25th from 7:00PM-9:00PM.
“From sweet cinnamon and pumpkin, to tart apple and orange, to savory herbs and sauces, each course will be paired with a seasonal cocktail crafted by our expert mixologists that will perfectly complement every bite,” the team shared.
The fall-inspired dinner will be served family style and will include delectable appetizers including fluke crudo, an Autumn harvest salad, and cider-glazed pork belly, and a black truffle risotto as the mid-course dish. The main entree features braised short rib, charred carrots, rosemary potatoes, and more. To end the dinner, there will be a coffee panna cotta paired with tableside Cafe Brulot.
