Bayonne is always up to something these days, and we are in total support of its new era. The Bay 151 neighborhood behind NJ-440 has basically become its own hidden gem community (see some of our prior coverage here), and one of its newest spots is Haven House. Located at 151 East Centre Street, Haven House is literally an “eatertainment” destination, and Team HG had a chance to see what the buzz was about. About Haven House
Haven House is part of Bayonne’s Bay 151 residential community and is a spot-on representation of the new vibes in the city. The space is sleek, spacious, and fresh, with lots of seating for solo trips + group outings. But what really steals the show is its 35-foot LED screen, which is one of the biggest in Hudson County and always has a sporting event on. Isiah from Team HG had a chance to experience a game watch party there when England and Norway played their World Cup quarter-final game on July 11th.
From the moment you walk in, the vibes are exciting. The crowd there was a fun mix of families enjoying a good meal, residents working from home, and passionate football fans reacting to every play on the big screen. “We’re open all week and show all the events, like the World Cup and UFC,” Haven House team member Viktor shared with us. The restaurant operates for almost the entire day, with hours of 6AM to 10PM Monday to Thursday, and 8AM to 2PM Friday to Sunday.

The Menu
The Haven House menu is also a diverse one, with so many international dishes from every corner of the globe. The appetizers set the tone immediately (try the Firecracker Potatoes — they are as spicy as they sound), and the main entrees were a fun mix of Greek, Italian, Asian, and Moroccan dishes, and it doesn’t end there (and the global selection made watching the World Cup game even better, by the way).
There are also some fun specialty drinks. Caffeine lovers can get their fix with a wide selection of signature lattes and espresso options, and the cold beverage options almost feel limitless. We tried some of the matcha drinks and walked away in love (try the White Chocolate Matcha). Haven House also offers breakfast, including a fun custom omelette option.
Getting There
The Bay 151 community in Bayonne is still pretty new, but it’s worth visiting and knowing. Haven House is located at 151 East Centre Street and is accessible via either NJ-440 or the Bayonne mainland along Avenue E (the latter is usually faster — wink), so it’s a quick trip from the rest of Hudson County. FYI: It also has plenty of parking.
