A New Bakery + Cafe Is Coming to Hoboken
The Hoboken Girl received a DM from the team behind Dän Bakery + Cafe on Sunday, May 17th, sharing news of the bakery’s newest venture in the Mile Square. The team messaged HG that the bakery and cafe plans to open in Hoboken.
While Hoboken will be the brand’s newest home, Dän Bakery + Cafe already has roots in New Jersey. Its original location is in Morristown, making the Hoboken space its second location. The family-owned bakery and cafe centers its approach around slow fermentation, high-quality ingredients, and traditional baking techniques. The name dän comes from the Kazakh word for “seed,” reflecting the idea that great baking starts long before anything reaches the oven. The team focuses on allowing dough to mature naturally and keeping the menu intentional, with an emphasis on quality over quantity. From pastries and desserts to cafe staples, Dän Bakery + Cafe takes a thoughtful approach to baking.

What to Expect on the Menu
The full menu for the Hoboken location has not been revealed yet, but the Morristown location gives locals an idea of what to expect, with a mix of comfort food, baked goods, and everyday cafe bites. Guests can expect breakfast items like a Garden Veggie Scramble, + a selection of freshly made sandwiches. One item to know is the Caprese Cheese Sandwich, made with artisanal house-made bread, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.

The menu also includes hot meals + savory options, including phyllo pastries filled with spinach and creamy feta. On the sweeter side, Dän Bakery + Cafe is expected to serve desserts like croissants, cakes, and cookies.
