From food and drink spots to specialty businesses and community-focused openings, the local scene continues to evolve with new additions and cool concepts. Some have already opened their doors, while others are gearing up to make their debut.  Read on for a list of what’s new + what’s next in the area.

 

Hoboken

Bodega Cards | 119 Monroe Street

Jersey City’s well-known trading card shop, Bodega Cards, officially relocated to Hoboken this January. After years of building a loyal following in Jersey City, owner Pete Keeling now brings the shop’s curated selection and community-driven energy to Hoboken, establishing a new home base for trading card enthusiasts.

All Saints Episcopal Day School

Dutch’s | 86 Garden Street

Dutch’s Sandwich Shop, a new addition to Hoboken, brings a cool twist to the neighborhood’s sandwich scene. The menu boasts a variety of sandwiches, including classic New York-style chopped sandwiches, and brings a new + exciting experience to Hoboken’s sandwich enthusiasts.

The Station Hoboken

Joe + The Juice | 216 Washington Street

Joe + The Juice may be making its New Jersey debut. The global juice and coffee chain is looking to take over the former Cheap Maggie’s space at 216 Washington Street in Hoboken, which would mark its first Garden State location.

Kiehl’s | 133 Washington Street

Another luxury skincare brand has officially landed in Hoboken. Kiehl’s is now open at 133 Washington Street, marking the brand’s second standalone New Jersey location and joining more than 50 freestanding stores nationwide.

SRO | 107 10th Street

The team behind Anthony David’s has transformed a former tattoo parlor into an upscale bar located next door to the restaurant at 107 10th Street in Hoboken. The long-awaited project, SRO, recently opened its doors on February 10th, and our team had the opportunity to take a first look. Read more about it here

Subway | 205 Hudson Street

In early 2026, signage appeared indicating that a Subway location was on its way to Hoboken. The sandwich shop will mark the first Subway in Hoboken. 

The Collective | 79 Hudson Street

Three local brands are officially expanding The Collective, bringing the concept to a new permanent home. The businesses joining the space include Hoboken Hat Bar, Susan Beth Design Studio, and The Loop, creating a shared destination centered on locally driven retail and design.

The Little Stitchery, a needlepoint shop, announced plans to open in Hoboken. While details on the location and timing remain limited, locals can expect needlepoint supplies, classes, and a space focused on building a creative community.

The LOLA | 102 Sinatra Drive

The LOLA, located along the water, is taking a new direction from its previous iteration and shifting toward a cocktail lounge. The updated concept is led by former Butcher’s Block chef Brandon “Bud” Carter, and reservations went live in early February.

Jersey City 

Chroma Tattoo + Art Studio | 251 Washington Street

Alena Wedderburn, known for her hyper-realism pieces, avant‑garde tattooing style, and appearance on season 16 of Paramount’s Ink Master, is set to open a tattoo shop + fine art studio in Jersey City. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is expected to be on Saturday, March 7th. 

Cornerstone Pilates | 344 Communipaw Avenue

Cornerstone Pilates, a newly opened studio in Bergen-Lafayette, is bringing an intentional approach to movement and wellness to Jersey City. Founded by Kyra, the space focuses on mindful strength and community-driven fitness.

Dagda Irish Pub | 123 Newark Avenue

A new Irish bar has arrived in Downtown Jersey City. Dagda has opened at 123 Newark Avenue in the former Café Coretto space, bringing a fresh neighborhood pub vibe to the area.

DONG BEI Restaurant & Bar brings the distinctive flavors of China’s Northeast to the table. The restaurant currently has a location in New York City, and this will be its first location in New Jersey.

 

Neighborhood Play Sessions | 1 Chapel Avenue

Neighborhood Play Sessions give local kids a chance to get active, play games, and build athletic skills in a fun, low-pressure environment—no early sports specialization required. Each session includes warm-up games, skill-building activities, small-sided team play, and friendly competitions, all designed to help kids develop confidence, coordination, and teamwork while enjoying being active. 

Oda Omakase | 538 Jersey Avenue

Oda Omakase is set to arrive soon in Jersey City. Details remain sparse, very much in keeping with the omakase ethos, but social media confirms that the experience will be led by Chef JP Adora (@chefjpadora), hinting at a thoughtfully curated, chef-driven counter to come.

PB Club | 2 Garfield Avenue

The PB Club has opened in Jersey City as the city’s first indoor facility dedicated entirely to pickleball. Players of all levels can enjoy year-round games in a space designed specifically for the fast-growing sport. It’s a new hub for locals to stay active, socialize, and have fun on the court.

Speedy’s Burgers + Bowls | 154 Chestnut Avenue

Speedy’s Burgers + Bowls has reopened in Jersey City and now operates in the Journal Square area. Formerly located in Paulus Hook, the burger and bowl spot returns with its signature comfort food and easygoing, good-vibes energy.

Shanway Chengdu Kitchen | 89 Newark Avenue

Shanway Chengdu Kitchen is a Sichuan-style restaurant taking over the former Miso Ramen space. The restaurant is BYOB for dine-in guests.

Spark Place | 411 Palisade Avenue

Spark Place is a play space designed by local parents for kids and caregivers. Children ages six and under can explore, play, and use a special area for crawlers and early walkers. Parents can relax, watch their little ones, and enjoy a warm drink in a comfortable + welcoming space.

The Collective Brew | 198 Van Vorst Street

The Collective Brew opened in late March 2026 in Jersey City, bringing a taste of Nepal to the neighborhood. Located on the corner of Van Vorst and Morris, the café focuses on organic teas and plans to host “sober hours” as part of its wellness-forward concept.

Tiny Topiary | 163 Monticello Avenue

 

Tiny Topiary, located in the Bergen Hill area, focuses on slow food and a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. Everything from the sips to the bites is fresh + intentional. The couple behind the spot has built a warm, community-minded space.

Popular Hoboken restaurant Blue Eyes is expanding its Hudson County footprint. In an exclusive conversation with The Hoboken Girl, founder Alessandro Galioto shared that the team is opening a new spot in Jersey City called Vicoletto.
