Here at The Hoboken Girl, we love love. Couples getting together in Hudson County and celebrating their relationships — we can’t get enough. With pandemic-related closures forcing some couples to get creative with their wedding celebrations, we have seen more and more microweddings in Jersey City and Hoboken. There are plenty of memorable venues in Hudson County that fit the bill: regardless of the size of the crowd, any celebration will sparkle at one of these spots. Read on to find out our favorite spots for a microwedding.

According to Brides magazine, a microwedding is a celebration of up to 50 people.

Hoboken

Antique Loft | 33 Newark Street

Snap Fitness JC

Located on a waterfront rooftop, this event space boasts 4,000 square feet of room. A sunset ceremony means sweeping, unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop for heartwarming vows. It has a capacity of 90 for a seated dinner and 125 for a more relaxed reception.

Backstage is a cocktail lounge located in the back of Sirenetta in uptown Hoboken. It is both intimate and dimly-lit, making for a cozy and romantic place to celebrate a microwedding. It can hold up to 45 guests. You can inquire about a private event here.

This upscale wine bar doubles as an intimate wedding venue with a backyard patio space. It allows for live music and a small reception, which can be brunch, dinner, or anything in between. Decor is also customizable, so it really can be a dream microwedding.

Maybe bwè was the site of your first date or perhaps it’s your favorite morning stop. Or maybe the sun-drenched interiors is the draw. With three locations in the Hoboken and Jersey City area, this family-owned coffee shop ensured that all three spaces doubled as event venues. The Washington Street location can fit 30 guests, the Adams street location can hold 75 guests, and the Newport location hosts 45 guests. An intimate celebration in a sun-drenched space that smells like coffee could definitely make a couple’s dream day.

Golden Knot Yacht Services | Hudson River, Hoboken + Jersey City

Just as the name suggests, this service allows guests to board a boat in Hoboken and get married while sailing the Hudson River. Wedding Rule voted it one of the top wedding venues in Hoboken. The boats range in size depending on the size of the crowd, and there’s also a dock available in Jersey City.

This intimate wine bar boasts a rustic vibe, and the whole space can be rented out to host a microwedding. There’s a large patio that’s available for ceremonies in the warmer months, and the Italian cuisine is not to be missed.

Halifax | 225 River Street

Located inside the W Hotel, this sleek space is known for its weekend boozy brunches. But it also serves as a microwedding event space, where guests can observe the skyline and enjoy a food and beverage selection. The space works with the couple to make sure all needs are met.

Hudson Table | 1403 Clinton Street

This uptown space easily transforms into a microwedding venue where food is cooked right before guests’ very eyes. Eager partygoers can even step behind the counter to try their hand at cooking themselves. And the space is BYOB, so the bride and groom can bring whatever drinks they desire to the celebration.

Kolo Klub | 1422 Grand Street

Pilsner Haus Biergarten’s second floor is Kolo Klub, an event space for 40 to 160 people. It’s an artisan-built, 4,000 square foot loft with open, rustic vibes and a barn feel, making it extra trendy right now. It’s surely a picturesque, unique space that could definitely make any event one to remember.

Semi-private and private event packages are available at this family-run restaurant. The semi-private option holds 24 guests for a sit-down or cocktail party, and a fully private buyout holds 65 to 75 people. The contemporary decor and modern Italian cuisine come together for an uptown affair that is sure to make any microwedding memorable.

Jersey City

Barrow Mansion | 83 Wayne Street

One of the most storied, eclectic buildings in Jersey City can host an elegant microwedding. It can hold a wide range of events, from art exhibits to chill yoga to — of course —microweddings. And it’s an actual mansion that will be yours for the day — something straight out of a fairytale.

Battello | 502 Washington Boulevard

Soaring ceilings and hypnotizing views of the Manhattan skyline add a level of depth to any microwedding, and that’s a promise Battello can keep. This Italian restaurant, located right on the Jersey City waterfront, features a space that can be a smaller microwedding or a bigger celebration. It’s also close to tons of hotels, making it convenient for out-of-town visitors.

Chart House | 1700 Harbor Boulevard, Weehawken

Though not in Jersey City, this upscale Weehawken seafood restaurant nestled right along the Hudson River can host a small microwedding or a medium-sized celebration. It’s been a set for movies and TV shows, and has also hosted many celebrities. The space also recently underwent a million dollar remodel, so the updated decor is both sleek and photo-worthy.

Satis Bistro | 212 Washington Street

Satis Bistro serves Mediterranean fare in a bright, chic space. The restaurant can host events in both the indoor mezzanine and outdoor area. Whether it’s for a microwedding, baby shower, or birthday party, there are options for 3-hour dinner parties, 2 ½-hour brunch parties, and a restaurant buyout for 4 hours.

The Hutton | 225 Hudson Street

The Hutton can accommodate both indoor and outdoor events rain or shine with amenities like a covered patio with a separate bar, TVs, and heaters outside, as well as a charming ambiance on the inside. There’s also a large tree in the back patio that would add a pretty backdrop to a microwedding. The events are for up to 70 guests outdoors and from 50-95 guests indoors at this American bar and grill.
