One of the best things about living in or visiting Hoboken is the variety of things to do and bars and restaurants to visit. But, the Mile Square is tricky when it comes to finding a spot to host your own events due to the limited amount of venues available. Thankfully, the Kolo Klub fills a gap for basically any event you need to host {including some of our HG events from 2018 and 2019 — we just love it!}. This unique space is located in the same building as the Pilsner Haus and offers a very unique vibe with its cozy yet high-end décor and feel. Read on below for five things you may not have known about the Kolo Klub.

1. It’s not the same as the Pilsener Haus.

This one can definitely come as a surprise being that in the past the two were connected. However, even though Kolo Klub shares the same building {including one entrance} and works closely with Pilsener Haus at times,  it’s actually a completely separate business and event space.

Since early 2018, Kolo Klub has been operated by Vince Crysler of Skyline Hospitality. The change in structure allows for more opportunity with pricing and diversity for hosting private events, which is now their main focus. While Kolo Klub isn’t open to the public as a cocktail bar on a regular basis, they host public and private events that highlight their talented mixology staff, delicious food, and stunning décor.

2. Kolo Klub offers a full-service menu for event rentals.

When it comes to this unique spot full-serve really means full-service. From weddings and rehearsal dinners to birthday parties and corporate team building events, the sky is the limit when thinking about ways to create a top-notch event inside of their space.

Harborside Sport + Spine

Events from 40 to 160 people fit perfectly in the 4,000 square foot loft-style event space. The furniture in the space includes high-top tables, long farmhouse tables, and plush leather couches, which makes for a variety of options in terms of event setup and style. The main entrance, located on 1422 Grand Street around the corner from Pilsner Haus, has an elevator as well.

3. They host monthly wine events for the public.

Every month, the Kolo Klub puts together a wine tasting dinner that is not only absolutely delicious but is also very entertaining and educational. Each event has a new theme that highlights diverse wines paired perfectly with a custom crafted menu.

These events are great to come to with friends and are also a great way to meet new people as the family-style seating creates a fun environment to socialize with other wine lovers and foodies. Their next event is coming up on June 21st and is a Taste of Spain Wine and Food Pairing event. The event will include a tasting of eight different Spanish wines and is $65 all-inclusive of tax + gratuity. *Plus* HG readers get 20% off the tasting with code HOBOKENG1. 4. The food and drinks are top-notch.

The cocktails you’ll find at Kolo Klub aren’t just your standard cosmos and margaritas {though, of course, you can get those as well}. The bartenders are true mixologists who specialize in the art of crafting balanced cocktails. So whether you’re looking to stick with a well-made version of a classic or want a modern spin, they have options to please every palate. They also offer a carefully-curated wine and beer list as well.
When it comes to the food at an event at the Kolo Klub, first-rate dining can be expected as Skyline Hospitality handles it all. Their menus are fully-customizable for private events, with personalized and creative options all made with high-quality ingredients. The presentation of their dishes is sleek and simple, which adds to the experience of any event.

5. You’ll get 5-star service in a beautiful and rustic atmosphere.

The Kolo Klub event team paired with the catering team from Skyline Hospitality is basically an event planning dream team. They will take you from the initial planning stages all the way through to the day-of event coordination. They are super friendly and fun to work with but are also extremely professional and know how to get things done. So whether you’re planning to host a private event or to attend a Kolo Klub event, a pleasant experience is guaranteed.
The décor of the entire space, from the entrance to the bathrooms to the main room itself, is absolutely stunning. Think an upscale rustic feel with a hint of old-charm elegance. There’s also a lot of flexibility in the setup of the room which makes it great for events of all kinds. Non-profit groups, corporations, or even schools will love this location for fundraisers and team-building events. They also have full AV capability as well for anyone that wants to play videos or give presentations.
If you’re interested in hosting an event at the Kolo Klub {which we highly recommend doing} you can reach them at 877-414-5050 ext 1 or via email at events@koloklub.com.
