Just like a real-life romantic comedy, Dan and Annmarie swam in the same circle for a while before finally meeting and sparking what would be their whirlwind romance all throughout Hoboken. On their “I do” day, Annmarie and Dan had a dreamy reception and ceremony all in the city they call home. Find out how their Hoboken hometown played a romantic role in the couple’s journey.

How They Met
Annmarie and Dan met roughly four years ago through a mutual friend named Chris, and as a group they would all share puns and jokes together on Twitter. Finally, Chris decided the whole friend group needed a pizza outing since neither Dan or Annmarie had seen him in a while, nor had Dan and Annmarie met yet. Fortunately for the soon-to-be couple, Dan didn’t wait until pizza night to see her and asked Annmarie out for coffee two days before, and almost instantly their relationship took off. They had their first kiss along Hoboken’s waterfront, and since then the whole area has really become a part of their love story. Fast forward to 2016 and the two venture away from Hoboken to Japan, and Dan is getting down on one knee to propose {swoon!}.
Making Hoboken Home
Annmarie lived in Hoboken for about seven years, while Dan was a Brooklyn native and living in Staten Island when the two met. Two years ago, however, Dan moved to Hoboken to be with his bride.
Ceremony
Annmarie and Dan said “I do” on September 29, 2018, right along Pier 12 {not 13!} Hoboken with 100 loved ones looking on. They both felt tying the knot at Pier 12 was the perfect mix of both their worlds. And yes, it was the pier next to the waterfront party spot.
Shortly after, the couple brought their guests to Kolo Klub for a reception that ran from 3:00PM-7:00PM, and then held an after party downstairs at Pilsener Haus Biergarten right after to celebrate their special day all the way into the late night!

Keeping it Local
Annmarie and Dan kept it all as local as possible. Beyond the reception, ceremony, and after party all based out of Hoboken, Annmarie used as many locally-based vendors as they could from Hoboken and New York. The pair used Lily from Lily Szabo Photography as their official photographer, tapped into friend Angela Dallesandro of Life Made Up NJ for Annmarie’s spectacular makeup and then headed to the awesome sisters at Nail Concepts on Willow Avenue for her nails.
Annmarie asked her mother to make a special “one egg cake” from her childhood, and she even did a little DIY by wrapping biodegradable bamboo utensils in napkin with jute string, and wood burned the pair’s initials into bamboo plates. With some added personal charm and decorative unique flair, the duo’s dreamy wedding date was one they’ll for sure remember every anniversary to come.
