Introduction to Judaism Course at Temple Beth-El Jersey City Begins 11/1

Rabbi Moritt’s Introduction to Judaism course at Temple Beth-El Jersey City, located at 2419 John F. Kennedy Blvd begins on Wednesday, November 1st. The 20-week introductory course will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30PM and will focus on the “hows” and “whys” of Judaism and cover core concepts, master stories, key figures, Jewish theology and history, prayer + much more. The classes are specifically designed for everyone — including individuals and couples who are Jewish, as well as those from various faith traditions and cultural backgrounds or those who have had no religious upbringing. The course is free for Temple members and just $375 per person/couple for non-members. Additionally, there will be an optional Intro to Hebrew class available 30-minutes before class begins starting December 6th at no cost.

The Far Hills Race Meeting Returns 10/21

The Far Hills Race Meeting, located at 50 Route 202 in Far Hills, is back next Saturday, October 21st with gates opening at 8:00AM. This is the race’s 102nd year, and the fun-filled event features steeplechase races throughout the day, food trucks, local vendors, tailgating with personal spaces, private tents, and more. General admission tickets for the event are just $110 and children 13 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Not to mention, there’s also an all-inclusive VIP experience in Chairman’s Tent with sweeping views of the track, an upscale buffet, + open bar throughout the day and the all new and exclusive Hunt Club — an exclusive experience for guests 21+ to enjoy food, drinks, music, tailgating games, and exceptional views along the race rail.

Tickets for this event are $189 per person ($152 for Landmark Club Members) and features a 5-course dinner experience paired with handcrafted cocktails and wine samplings. The “ranch to table” inspired menu includes beef carpaccio, bone marrow, short rib ragu, and rosemary roasted ribeye, followed by a dark chocolate cremeux for dessert. The Curtain’s Romeo + Juliet in Jersey City

The Boys + Girls Clubs of Hudson County was founded in 1893 to create a positive place for the youth of Jersey City. In the 129 years since its founding, the club has expanded its scope exponentially by offering a mix of nationally developed programs + activities. The Clubs serve more than 2,000 youth ages five to 21 annually in Clubhouses in JC + Hoboken, through a mission to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, + caring citizens of the community.
