As we near the end of August, many locals are planning last-minute weekend getaways for the summer — but if you plan on staying local, there are many happenings occurring right here in Hudson County this weekend. This week’s local Hoboken + Jersey City events guide has everyone covered with a Community Bike Ride at Columbus Park, a Floral Arrangement Workshop at Mac + The Mushroom, a Comedy Jam Rooftop at 902 Brewing Co., and more. The Jersey City Day of Fashion is a collaboration between Mana Fashion Services, Mana Contemporary, and the city of Jersey City, aimed at bringing an unprecedented fashion experience to Jersey City for one day before New York Fashion Week. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 6th from 9:00AM to midnight and will showcase local designers and brands through exhibits, pop-ups, talks, fashion shows, open houses, happy hours, parties, and networking opportunities across various Jersey City venues. Some events during Jersey City Day of Fashion are free to the public and others ticketed so make sure to check out the schedule and RSVP to the event’s numerous activations.

The Laugh Tour Comedy Club at Dorrian’s Red Hand

The Laugh Tour Comedy Club located inside Dorrian’s Red Hand at 555 Washington Boulevard in Jersey City has four shows this weekend on Friday, August 25th at 7:30PM and 9:45PM and Saturday, August 26th at 6:30PM and 9:00PM. Friday’s 9:45PM show and both shows on Saturday are special Jersey City Pride themed shows and all are welcome to celebrate and enjoy the laughs. All shows are hosted by comedian Rich Kiamco and will feature comedians from Netflix, Tru TV, LOL Network, iTunes, Boston Comedy Festival, Jersey City Comedy Festival, Comedy Central, Black Women in Comedy Festival, Govenor’s, and Comic Strip . Show tickets $25 for all shows plus a 2 item minimum per person (food or drink with 20% gratuity automatically added).
