Lots of great events going on in Hoboken this weekend – what a great way to kick off May!
1. Opening of “Colorscapes” Exhibition at the Hob’Art Gallery: Thursday-Sunday
Come to Monroe Art Center for the opening of “Colorscapes” Exhibition, featuring artists Susan Davis and Tom Egan, and their art exhibit of pastels and photographs. It is on display until Sunday, June 1, Thursday to Sunday from 1:00-5:00PM and by appointment. The artists’ reception will be this Saturday, May 3rd, 6-8PM.
2. Great Food for a Great Cause Fundraiser at Turning Point: Friday & Saturday 8AM
This Friday and Saturday the Turning Point Restaurants will be holding the 4th Annual Great Food for a Great Cause Fundraiser. They are teaming up with The Kortney Rose Foundation to raise money for pediatric brain tumor research and awareness.
3. Cruisin’ for a Cause 2014: Friday 8PM-1AM
Ultimate Wireless Entertainment Cruisin’ for a Cause is an Alzheimer’s Awareness event and black tie charity auction and comedy gala. It will be departing from Cornucopia Destiny, more info here.
4. 16th Annual Jersey Cares Day: Saturday 9AM
This Saturday is Jersey Cares Day, so head over to Liberty State Park to volunteer! It’s a great way to give back to the community – register here.
5. Hoboken Cinco de Mayo Mexicon: Saturday 12PM
This Saturday is Hoboken Cinco de Mayo Mexicon, starting noon on Saturday and ending 2:30AM Sunday morning! Starting point will be Teak on the Hudson – get your tickets here!
6. Fresh From the Garden Party: Saturday 2-4PM
Luxe Face and Body will be having a free event Saturday “Fresh from the Garden Party!”. The afternoon will include skin pampering, DIY gift making, and artisanal tea tasting, along with treats by Healthy Hoboken Girl. There will also be a Gift Packaging Station and DIY Bath Salts Bar. Be sure to wear something with flowers and receive a free sample!
7. All American Burlesque Show: Saturday 8PM-12AM
This Saturday is Hoboken’s All American Burlesque Show at the Hoboken Elks Club, and features an American-style buffet, cash bar with deeply discounted drinks, burlesque show, comedy, and music. Price at door for general admission is $60, so it’s best to buy early and save – get tickets here. Veterans, bring your ID and/or wear uniform for special surprise!
8. Beginning of Maifest at Pilsener Haus & Biergarten: Saturday 8PM
Come by Saturday for the kick off of Maifest, the traditional Springtime festival that will last until May 31. Enjoy lots of great drinks, food, and music!
9. March for Babies: Sunday 9AM
March for Babies is the March of Dimes premier fundraising events. Come to Liberty State Park and support and help raise money for more than a half million babies that are born too early each year. Register to walk here.
10. Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival: Sunday 11AM-6PM
Hoboken Arts and Music Festival is this Sunday on Washington St. between Observer Highway and 7th St. and admission is free! Come and enjoy lots of great music, art, food, activities, and more!
11. Cinco De Mayo Shopping Party at the factory boutique {91 Park Ave}
***ALSO – Pier 13 will be opening this Saturday, May 3rd! Get excited!
