Junghyun Eric An, who goes by Eric, is the owner of Organic Basic Food after it was passed down by his father, who migrated to the U.S. from Asia over 20 years ago. The shop specializes in healthy snacks and treats and boasts a wide range of high-quality, natural health products, including multivitamins, probiotics, supplements, and more.

Prime Place Grocery Stores

Prime Place Grocery Stores are conveniently located throughout Hoboken. Open 24/7, these shops have everything you would need in a pinch — from toilet paper and shaving cream to an avocado and coffee grinds. Some locations even have fresh produce, flowers and popular brands like Rao’s sauce, Lesser Evil popcorn, and Van Leeuwen ice cream.

Sky Mart Grocery + Deli | 101 Marshall Street 

SKy Mart Grocery and Deli is located right underneath the Sky Club on Marshall Street. The market has everything from deli sandwiches, a small selection of produce, household items, and snacks and treats. 

The Station Hoboken

Urban Market | 1425 Washington Street

Rumors of this Brooklyn-based shop Dumbo Market’s plans of coming to Uptown Hoboken started rumbling back in October 2022, and doors officially opened in March 2025. This move marks Dumbo Market’s first New Jersey location and has an extensive selection of organic and specialty items, fresh fish, meat, and hot food. There’s also a Jersey City location coming soon.

Angelo Seafood | 626 Washington Street

This seafood specialty market was a 2024 venture from the team at Stingray Lounge uptown. The market has fresh fish and premade items such as crab cakes, salmon burgers, shrimp scampi, and more. There is even a section for popular ingredients some customers may want to serve alongside their seafood specialties, like pasta, cocktail sauce, and gourmet olive oil. Angelo Seafood also has a raw bar at the bottom level that’s BYO, where customers can order a lobster roll or oysters with a glass of wine or cold beer.

BB Gourmet | 828 Washington Street

A field of flowers decorates the storefront of BB Gourmet on Washington Street. The grocery store sells fruit, vegetables, and other plants seven days a week. This spot is ideal for grabbing a quick snack to bring to enjoy down by the water, or fueling up before hopping on the PATH to head to work.

Wonder | 221 River Street 

Wonder is a food hall that allows customers to try multiple award-winning restaurants from around the country, all in one order. Food options at each location range from fan-favorite hidden gems to Michelin-starred spots with something for every appetite.

Casa Italia | 600 Park Avenue

This spring, the team from Alessio’s opened a gourmet Italian market. The new spot sells sweets, snacks, jarred goods, and pizza kits, including all of Alessio’s sauces — vodka, pesto, and marinara. Alessio’s is a local favorite for Italian goods and was founded by Luca Infantino in 2020. Since then, the team has expanded across several locations in the Hoboken, Jersey City, and Hudson County area, but this is the first market concept.

You can smell Empire’s brews from blocks away, but this local coffee shop sells more than just cold brews and lattes. Customers can also select loose teas to take home with them. The teas come in a variety of sizes from four ounces to a pound, and in different varieties such as almond, blueberries and cream, apricot, and more.

Hoboken Cheese + Wine | 720 Monroe Street

If you ever want to feel like you’re in Paris instead of Jersey, Hoboken Cheese and Wine Cheese is locals’ go-to spot for artisan and farmhouse cheeses, hand-selected wines, charcuterie, imported foods, and even craft beers. This shop  on Monroe Street is an excellent spot to visit before hosting friends or setting up a picnic on the waterfront.

Farmers’ Markets

To get the freshest fruits and veggies and in-season produce, Hoboken also has a few farmers’ markets that run from spring through late fall. All markets have fruits, vegetables, and other local products. Vendors include Stony Hill Farms, Union Hill Farms, Melick’s Town Farm, Circle Brook Farms, Cotton Cattle, Hoboken Farms, The Lentil Co., Haley’s Donuts, Do Good Donuts, Pampered Pug, Roger’s Seafood, Pickle Licious, Choc O Pain, Paolo’s Kitchen, Gourmet Dried Fruits and Nuts, and more.

Downtown Farmer’s Market | Observer Highway Between Jackson + Harrison Streets

Running from June 5th to November 20th, this farmer’s market is conveniently located on the border of Jersey City and Hoboken and held every Thursday from 3PM to 7PM.

Midtown Farmer’s Market | Garden Street Between 4th + 5th Streets

A few blocks up you’ll find another market to support small Jersey farmers. The midtown market runs from June 3rd to November 18th and is held on Tuesdays from 2PM to 7PM.

Uptown Farmers’ Market | Under the Viaduct on 14th Street Between Grand + Adams Streets

This market is held every Saturday from 9AM to 1PM. from May 4th through December 20th. This market frequently features live music and activities for families and kids.

Whole Foods Daily Market | 101 Washington Street

The Daily Market format is a smaller store for urban neighborhoods that provides the same fresh foods and brands as traditional Whole Foods Markets. The market sells produce, meat, seafood, snacks, prepared foods, supplements, and some specialty items, plus many Whole Foods store brands such as 365.
