Road to Opening

The first hint of the incoming Whole Foods Daily Market came in late 2024 when The Hoboken Girl reported on application materials submitted to Hoboken’s Planning Board concerning the space at 101 Washington Street. The space was formerly home to a Walgreens, which closed in November 2023.  At a March 2025 Hoboken City Council meeting, plans for the Daily Market were approved unanimously.

The Daily Market format is a smaller store for urban neighborhoods that offers the same fresh foods and brands as traditional Whole Foods Markets. The Daily Markets will feature produce, meat, seafood, snacks, prepared foods, supplements, and some specialty items, plus many Whole Foods store brands such as 365.
