All About Barre3

Barre3, a national barre studio that has more than 170 locations in the U.S. and offers online workouts, has given entrepreneurs and fitness enthusiasts the opportunity to own a studio. Meet Patchanika Makaew, the owner of the Jersey City location who was born in Thailand and moved to NYC in 2014 to work as head of finance for a travel agency.

“In Thailand, I was never an exercise kind of person. When I moved to the U.S, I wanted to blend into the [New York fitness] culture. After trying numerous types of classes, only barre motivated me to keep coming back,” Patchanika told Hoboken Girl. “I tried just about every barre class offered in New York City. After my first class at Barre3, I felt happier, content, and focused. It was a life-changing moment for me.”

At each Barre3 class, clients get a full-body balanced workout that combines strength conditioning, cardio, and mindfulness. Each class is “designed to help you increase strength, reduce stress, improve balance, and build a mind-body connection,” per the website.

“Barre3 has become my new passion and an integral part of her life. I hope to share my passion with others through my Barre3 studio in the Jersey City community and inspire them along a similar journey,” Patchanika shared.

In the coming weeks, the owner will be hosting pop-ups throughout Jersey City, including the Farmer’s Market, to spread the word about the studio and have community members try out a class. Barre3 was previously at Van Vorst Park on August 28th, Hamilton Park on September 3rd, and will be with the JC Mom Group on September 18th.
