Just Salad is the latest in a wave of NYC-based restaurants to expand to the Hudson County area. With over 50 locations in the big city alone, the chain has become well-known with locals across the river. The newest Just Salad location in New Jersey is its Hoboken shop at 114 Washington Street, which officially opened its doors on Friday, November 18th. Read on for more details about the new Just Salad in Hoboken.
Just Salad in Hoboken
The salad spot is situated at 114 Washington Street next to Sticky’s, another NYC-based restaurant that made its way to Hoboken in March. Other restaurants on the block are Shaka Bowl, La Isla, Honeygrow, and Precious. Signage first went up at the Just Salad storefront back in May, with a window poster that read, “Raise your salad standards.”
According to its website, Just Salad is all about eating healthy and sustainably. Customers who dine in-house will notice that the restaurant offers $1 reusable salad bowls. These bowls are a part of the chain’s ‘zero waste’ campaign, which vowed to send nothing to landfills by the end of 2022. All other packaging products offered in-store are similarly sustainable, and in 2021, 91% of Just Salad’s food service packaging was made from recycled and/or renewable materials.
The menu boasts 21 ‘cold’ salad dishes and 8 ‘warm’ salad options, with seasonal items up for grabs, too. These menu items draw inspiration from a diverse selection of cultures. The Warm Shawarma Bowl, for example, is a Mediterranean-style grain bowl with braised chicken, while the Tokyo Supergreens is a refreshing salad packed with edamame, tofu, and a miso ginger vinaigrette. Many of the signature salads and bowls already are or can be made to be vegetarian-friendly.
Patrons also have the option to build their own salads, warm bowls, or wraps from the wide variety of bases, toppings, and dressings available. Other items include soups, wraps, avocado toast, plant-based smoothies, and bottled pressed juices.
“We look forward to bringing Just Salad’s mission of everyday health and everyday sustainability to Hoboken,” the company said in a statement as reported on Jersey Digs back in January.
Just Salad is open Monday – Friday from 10:30AM – 9PM and operates from 11AM – 8PM on Saturdays + Sundays. It joins a long list of new spots entering the Hoboken + Jersey City food scene, including Staten Island-based sushi restaurant, Avocado Sushi, set to open sometime next year.
