We Met At Acme, a popular dating and relationship podcast, is adding an adult all-inclusive summer camp to its lineup of events where singles have the chance of meeting one another and making a love connection. Founded by Lindsey Metselaar, We Met At Camp will bring together young professionals to an outdoor environment in the Catskills at the end of August for an activity-filled weekend. Though this is an invite-only program, the good news is there’s still time to apply. Read on to learn more about We Met At Camp and other upcoming meet-up opportunities for singles.

All About We Met At Camp

We Met At Camp is taking place Friday, August 26th to Sunday, August 28th in upstate New York. The weekend’s activities include fitness classes, sporting events and water sports, themed dance parties, pool and lake time, bonfire and s’mores, and so much more.

“This is our first camp,” We Met At Acme founder Lindsey Metselaar told Hoboken Girl. “I partnered with Michelle Booso and she used to do Camp Rosé All Day. She was telling me about these camps that she did and I thought, ‘That’s genius. We need to figure out a way to brand it as We Met At Camp,’ and so we came up with this. This will be our inaugural We Met At Camp.”

Although WMAC is an invite-only + exclusive camp, anyone can fill out a form online to apply to attend. The organizers are looking for “smart, successful, and creative people” who are 22-40 years old and live in the tri-state area. “For the most part, people do get accepted. We just want to make sure it’s an environment that people feel safe in and that there are like-minded people,” Lindsey said.

Prices vary depending on the preferred size of room (single, bunk, double, or triple). The perks include round-trip transportation from NYC if needed, an organic opportunity to meet a potential partner, make new friends, and walk away with an “amazing gift bag” full of goodies from the camp’s sponsors, including Members Only merch.

Lindsey told HG, “It’s going to be the most fun weekend ever. Basically you make your own rules — we make the schedule and you can choose what activities to do. There’ll be activities all day and all night including tennis with Break the Love and a Yoga class by Housecall. We have a bunch of different workouts and we have a huge lake where everyone can kind of chill. We’re doing a 90s-themed night with a 90s cover band coming, a white party, and a color war. So it’s like everything you loved about camp, plus you can drink. All of the food is included. By the end of the weekend, everyone will have made a new friend or two but at the very most, a new love interest.”

All About We Met At Acme

While We Met At Camp is launching in August 2022, the We Met At Acme Podcast has been around for almost five years now. The title stems from the French and Italian bistro “Acme” located in Noho, which was where Lindsey started out meeting people and would host events there. The Boston University alum lives in New York City and has settled down with her now husband after meeting him a few months before the pandemic at a New Years party in Miami. (Lindsey is based in the city, but raves about making the trip to Millburn, NJ to visit Millburn Deli!)

Since launching in October 2017, WMAA has gained a social media following of 79.5K followers on Instagram and has recorded over 250 episodes. Over the years, a ton of celebrity guests have been featured on the podcast including The Bachelorette’s Jason Tartick, Vanderpump Rules’ Katie Maloney, Drake & Josh’s Josh Peck, and comedian Whitney Cummings.

When Lindsey’s not podcasting, she’s a food blogger for Don’t Expect Salads. “I was doing social media management for brands [before We Met At Acme], which was definitely fun and I learned a lot, but it definitely wasn’t as fulfilling as talking to people about their dating lives, which I love,” Lindsey said. “My favorite [work to do] is definitely the events because I get to meet people in person. Especially when we do mixers or our camp event coming up, there’s a possibility of people meeting and falling in love and that makes me the happiest. That’s the most fulfilling for sure… I’ve set up five couples that got married.”

“I definitely want to keep growing and reaching more and more people, have the podcast get into more people’s ears, and do more live events,” Lindsey shared. “I’m going on tour this fall. Maybe in the future [I’ll write] a book, maybe [do] something on TV, but the goal is to be a big sister guiding people to having a good dating experience.”
