Danielle Grande and Jeffrey Grey are a Union City couple who recently got engaged locally. The pair’s love story includes a lot of local ties — they met at Saku in Hoboken, had their first date at 512 Quantum Sound in Union City, and eventually got engaged along the Weehawken waterfront after being together for two years. Hoboken Girl: What do you both do for a living?
Danielle Grande + Jeffrey Grey: Danielle works for Women’s Best as an Influencer Manager and I (Jeffrey) teach and coach in Union City.
HG: What city do you both live in + for how long have you lived there? What’s your favorite part about living here?
DG + JG: We’ve lived in Union City, NJ for a year together — our favorite part is being able to commute easily to the city and also being able to walk to Hoboken.
HG: When/where did you meet one another?
DG:: We met at Saku in Hoboken. Jeff was managing and I was drinking as well as eating lots of sushi.
JG: Danielle caught my eye and his attention. So I dropped off sake bombs and then asked her out!

HG: How long have you been together?
DG + JG: We are a Covid couple — been together for almost 2 years.

HG: Was there an instant connection/chemistry between you two?
JG: Yes — I provided sushi and Danielle was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.
HG: What are the qualities you love most about each other?
DG: Jeff’s best qualities are how thoughtful he is, how loving he is, and being super handsome.
JG: Danielle is the smartest, kindest person, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s the hottest too.
HG: Tell us about your proposal.
JG: Our first date was at 512 Quantum Sound Lounge in Union City by Danielle’s old apartment. So, for our engagement, I (Jeffrey) picked the date 5/12. I planned out our routine walk before going to dinner at Saku — the place we met. As we walked on the water off of Gregory Avenue in Weehawken, I told her all of the reasons that we were meant to be.
DG: Then, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The undercover photographer snatched the pictures and then we celebrated the rest of the night at Saku with Mike Deeg playing our love songs and then to Sirenatta for a few more drinks. We celebrated with family for the rest of the weekend.
HG: How long have you been engaged + what has been the best part about it?
DG + JG: We’ve been engaged since May and the best part is being able to call her my fiancé — she loves planning our engagement party and wedding!

HG: Where are you planning to get married?
DG + JG: Long Beach Island, LBI is where we are planning to get married in fall 2023.

HG: What part of the wedding planning process most excites you?
DG + JG: We are super excited to plan out the whole special day and try all of the food.
HG: How many people do you plan to have at your wedding?
DG + JG: We planned on having a smaller wedding with family and friends.
HG: Do you plan to use any local vendors?
DG + JG: Danielle works for Pure Event Group so they will definitely be a vendor at our wedding.
