Amanda’s is an Upscale American restaurant that also serves both dinner and brunch in a lovely brownstone from 1895. Amanda’s has lots of options for personalized parties with 5 different private dining rooms that accommodate 8 to 88 guests. The Brass Rail | 135 Washington Street
The Brass Rail is a great choice for any kind of event, be it a personal or professional one. This upscale American restaurant has two separate private areas to match your party needs. For a more laid-back, casual event, the bistro area is the way to go. It comes with both a bar with wines and spirits, as well as a raw bar packed with shellfish. Diners have the option to have cocktail service or passed hors d’oeuvres in this room. For more formal events, there’s an upstairs dining room to make things feel extra special. For those looking for more of an intimate party venue, this is the place to go. There’s a private room hidden away upstairs that can be set up like a traditional dinner party or arranged with a dance floor for more of a party vibe. For parties greater than 20 people, it also includes a full-service bar with a personal bartender. Food is served buffet style and includes lots of hand-held eats and comfort American dishes. City Bistro | 56 14th Street
City Bistro is an Italian American restaurant, bar, lounge, and rooftop. With fun cocktails, appetizers, ‘sammies,’ flatbreads, vegan options, and more, Cit Bistro is a crowd-pleaser. A local fan favorite, City Bistro has two options to host a private event: a sit-down prix -fixe option or buffet style for bigger parties. There is a minimum of 20 people and a $200 minimum to reserve your booking.
Del Frisco’s Grille | 221 River Street
Whether it’s for a celebration or a corporate event, Del Frisco’s has both private and semi-private dining options to help make the night special. This upscale bar and grill serving up American eats has a private dining room that can seat up to 36 guests and comes with a personal event coordinator, customizable menus, wine pairing recommendations, and even your choice of room lighting and sound. For more of a dinner party vibe, Grand Vin is the place for a fancier evening. It has a wide selection of wines and also has live music on certain nights. At Lola’s, a tapas spot with award-winning sangria, the private party room is located in the wine cellar. It has a private bar, is spacious for larger parties, and has a fun and unique ambiance. Sorellina | 1036 Washington Street
This wine bar and Italian kitchen that aims to capture the spirit of Italian cooking and wine in a warm and hospitable environment. With cheeses, meats, homemade pasta, and more, this spot is a great option for traditional Italian fare. It has a semi-private dining room that can be rented out Sunday through Thursday, which seats up to 24 guests. Menus for this option are pre-fixe and served family-style for everyone to share. There’s also a full buyout option for either a cocktail party or a more formal seated brunch or dinner. This option fits 60 to 75 guests, depending on whether it includes a seated meal. Willie McBride’s | 616 Grand Street
Those of us who have stayed out late enough have probably seen the Willie McBride’s limo. The private room offers space for a minimum of 10 people — or the party can be as large as 350 people. The prices range between from $25 to $35 per person depending on the party option you choose, and there are food catering options as well. Of course, the party rental comes with the free limo ride, so you’ll be escorted to your event in style. This Irish pub has a lot of hand-held food options for a more casual meal — and it boasts a large beer menu as well.

Amelia’s Bistro | 187 Warren Street
Amelia’s Bistro has a private party room that can seat up to 40 guests. There’s also a covered and heated outdoor area for those who want to take the party outside. The room comes with Wifi and audio-visual equipment for any heartfelt speeches or business presentations. This chic, modern spot serves up delicious seafood, great views, and has multiple options for private parties. There’s a completely private wine cellar that can accommodate up to 16 guests comfortably. With delicious twists on American food, quality cocktails, and a playlist that’ll always have you shimmy-ing your shoulders, this speakeasy vibe bar offers a place for people to host their events in what it calls the ‘gold room.’ There are various time slots available for both brunch and dinner. Fire + Oak | 479 Washington Boulevard
Fire + Oak, an American Grill spot, has a couple of options for private dining. There’s a semi-private tavern room that seats 12 or an official private boardroom that seats 24. Hudson Hall | 364 Marin Boulevard
Hudson Hall is a hub located at the entrance of downtown Jersey city with great music, tasty cocktails, and bar food that will delight the pickiest of people. If you want to host your party here, there is a private room that comes with your own bartender and can be rented out 3 hours at a time. Prices vary, but it is 50 dollars a person. Hudson Hound | 8 Erie Street
This location only opened up about a year ago and has a speakeasy in the basement. With bricks, barrels, and a cool rustic environment, this is a uniquely chill spot to host any event. While not available on Saturdays, the speakeasy can be rented to host an event for up to 40 people on any other night.
Liberty House | 76 Audrey Zapp Drive
Another spot with great views alert — Liberty House cooks up steak, seafood, and more with awesome water views. It also serves as an event space, so this is a great option for a more substantial private party. It offers special tasting menus and beverage service in an upscale, private setting. This Italian restaurant is brick-filled, charming, and rustic — and it offers a private room for a variety of events. There are seated dinner options for both over and under 25 people, and the restaurant can accommodate birthday parties, anniversary parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, work events, and more. Zeppelin Hall | 88 Liberty Drive
Probably one of the most well-known bars in JC, it offers spaces for private parties in both the indoor and outdoor areas. If you’re planning on having a big gathering, this is a great option as it offers fast bites, huge beers, and cocktails. While there’s no rental fee for booking the private room, which comes with a private bar, there is a minimum spend of $2,500 for food and drinks combined. This can accommodate up to 125 people. If you decide on the main hall, another room option, the minimum spend is $500 and it can accommodate up to 40 people.
