The holiday season is almost officially here — with Halloween just about wrapped up. And while Hoboken and most of Hudson County are known for their young residents, it is really our senior citizens that are the backbone of our community. In honor of the Thanksgiving season and in memory of our late friend, Vinny Wassman, we are gathering to show our love and support of our seasoned neighbors with a special greeting card event. Keep reading to learn more about the Hoboken Girl Helps event — our greeting card-writing volunteer get-together on November 5 th at House of ‘Que.
About the Event
Join us as we craft greeting cards to brighten the days of Hudson County’s 65 and over age group and get into the holiday spirit. We will gather at Hoboken’s House of ‘Que {340 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken} on Tuesday, November 5th from 7:00-9:00PM {RSVP here and you must bring your own supplies — see below for more info!}.
Food and drink will be available for purchase as well as their weekly trivia night. To participate, we are asking that participants all bring their own supplies {also come with the spirit of “sharing is caring”} — think construction paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, stickers, etc. Suggested verbiage for the cards will be provided, but creativity is welcome as well. You can make as many cards as you want!
