Brass Rail takes fall flavors seriously with its extensive seasonal cocktail list. From Cranberry Apple Mules, Pumpkin Pie Martinis, and even an “Aperfall” Spritz, there is no shortage of fall favorites to explore here. Seasonal non-boozy bevs are also available and sound just as tasty. We’re enticed by the mocktail titled What’s Up Doc which includes turmeric, ginger, and carrot juice with fresh pressed apple cider, and house-made ginger syrup.

The team at Union Hall has used the magic of cocktail artistry to liquefy some of the season’s most popular treats. Guests can indulge in a Smores Old Fashioned, Pumpkin Pie Martini, or an Elderpear Fizz to get a fix of fall and satisfy that sweet tooth. The restaurant also has fall twists on classic cocktails such as the It’s Fall Y’all which is essentially an Aperol Spritz with apple cider, and prosecco, served with a caramel rim.

Jersey City

Grace O’Malley’s Whiskey Chapel | 140 Newark Avenue

While Grace O’Malley’s might be a go-to for Sunday football games and draft beers, the seasonal cocktail list is an unexpected highlight. Stand-out menu items include the Honey Fig which is made of Titos, Figenza Vodka, lemon, honey syrup, apple cider, champagne, dried fig, and a thyme garnish. The Light ‘em Up cocktail is also a great choice for those looking to spice things up. This beverage includes Altos Tequila, honey syrup, Aperol, ginger liqueur, lime, blood orange, agave nectar, rosemary, and nutmeg.

Kitchen Step is a modern-American neighborhood bistro in the heart of Downtown Jersey City. Its market-inspired cuisine and deliciously crafted cocktails are fan favorites for a reason. Some seasonal cocktail highlights have to be the Chai Flyer with Tanqueray Gin, Aperol, chai-infused vermouth, and pomegranate cordial, or the Oh Mai Goodness which has spiced rum, pumpkin spiced syrup, lime, and acid-adjusted orange juice. The Fallen Leaves cocktail also has an interesting mix of tequila, pear, maple, lime, and Fee Foam. Additionally, for those chillier days, the Cin City (served hot) contains ginger spiced whiskey, apple cider, lemon juice, and cinnamon syrup.

Mezcal Kitchen | 665 Newark Avenue

Mezcal Kitchen in Journal Square is known for the 10/10 Mexican food and happy hours, but the cocktail list stretches far beyond margaritas. This fall, we’re excited to try the Apples on Apples cocktail made with Woodinville Bourbon, apple brandy, apple juice, lemon juice, thyme syrup, and Angostura bitters.

Views of Manhattan, cozy rooftop seating, fire pits, and fall drinks… we’re in. The Rooftop at Exchange Place is a waterfront classic with an Insta-worthy fall cocktail menu to match. Some menu highlights include the Chai My Pumpkin, made with Kraken Rum, pumpkin chai syrup, Pumpkin Rumchata, and coffee bitters; the Anejo’s Autumn which consists of Don Julio Anejo, cinnamon syrup, lemon juice, and ginger bitters; and of course, the Cold Brew Fashion which is a smoked beverage with Jim Beam Bourbon, cold brew and pumpkin chai syrup.

In the spring of 2024, the team behind Corto in Jersey City Heights opened The Roxy, an art-deco-inspired restaurant and bar. This upscale dining experience can be topped off with some festive cocktails that are hard to beat. Some standouts have to be the Maplejack Lemonade which features Broken Shed Vodka, Maplejack Liqueur, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon; the Autumn Bee which is made with Barr Hill gin, honey, clove, cinnamon, and lemon; or the Peppered Pear with Zyr vodka, prosecco, pear, black peppercorn, maple syrup, and lime.

The Table’s elevated take on American classics has made this spot a local favorite. Its curated cocktail menu is certainly eye-catching for those looking for a seasonal treat. The Autumn Buck features bourbon, ginger, mango, honey, lemon and ginger beer for a kick while the Gold Dust features gin, apple, cranberry, brandy, ginger, and lemon. If cocktails aren’t your forte, the restaurant also has seasonal sangria and mulled wine with spices galore.
