Where to Watch 4th of July 2020 Fireworks in Hoboken, Jersey City, and Beyond

Written by:

Even though a lot will be different on this 4th of July 2020, one thing remains constant: fireworks — because you can’t have the 4th of July without a fireworks show, even if it’s virtual. Although there won’t be as many fireworks shows with Jersey City’s fireworks being canceled and a scarce amount of parties compared to past years, multiple places will still be putting on spectacular shows, so your Independence Day celebrations can still be something to remember.

With many restaurants opened up for outdoor dining, there’s a chance that depending on where you are, you may get to enjoy a show. There are a few fireworks shows that aren’t cancelled, so it is possible to catch this year all around New Jersey — including potentially spottings in Hoboken and Jersey City for fireworks. So if you’re looking for plans, check out this roundup of just a few of the NY/New Jersey fireworks shows still happening this 4th of July 2020 in and around Hoboken and Jersey City, including the NYC Macy’s Fireworks Show.

Please note: We’ll be adding to the list if any additional shows are announced.

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks {East River, NYC}

From Monday, June 29 through Saturday, July 4, Macy’s Fireworks displays will launch unannounced on select evenings across New York City. Each 5-minute display will feature Macy’s signature pyrotechnic scale with thousands of shells reaching heights up to 1,000 feet. Each show is brief and will be over before residents can gather at its source. The displays will be launched from one or two land or water-based locations over the course of the week-long celebration covering every borough of New York City.

Please note: Staying close to home and following safe social distancing guidelines is the best way to enjoy the show.

Due to the pandemic and resulting policy changes — such as the firework policy announced by NJ Governor Phil Murphy — counties or cities can change or cancel events at any time. Please be sure to check the event listing directly before you go.
