This celebration has become a favorite for both locals and out-of-towners. It has consistently attracted top musical talent, including Village People (2016), Jersey City’s own Kool and the Gang (2017), Snoop Dogg (2018), Pitbull (2019), and local native Akon (2018 & 2019). It’s also been known to draw crowds over about 150,000 people from all around the area and outside of the state. The event, as always, will be free.

Fireworks

After the musical performances, fireworks will color the Jersey City sky with the Manhattan skyline in the background. Jersey City’s fireworks – conducted by Guinness World Record holder, Fireworks by Grucci – will be launching from two barges located in the middle of the Hudson River with a large viewing area this year, according to the press release. Spectators can watch the fireworks show along the Hudson River Walkway, from the north field at Liberty State Park, and most overlook areas in The Heights.

While there are no longer limits for outdoor gatherings, Jersey City is inviting residents and visitors to watch the fireworks along the waterfront while maintaining all safety protocols necessary.
