Working out when you have children can be a luxury, since it’s not always easy to call upon a babysitter to get a quick sweat in. That’s why we we put together a list of some local fitness and workout classes {suggested by a local mama herself} that have childcare or even better — allow the kiddies to join in the fun while you work out. Here are local fitness spots in Hoboken that allow children to participate or include childcare:

Asana Soul Practice {411 Jefferson Street}

Although only available for babies 6 months and under, the Baby Soul class at Asana Soul Practice is a great way to get back into yoga post delivery. Plus, you won’t have the new mom worry of leaving your baby with a sitter. Wrap up your baby and bring him/her along. New clients get 2 weeks of unlimited yoga + meditation for $35.

Hudson Yoga Project {44 Hudson Place}

Downtown at Hudson Yoga Project they have a 5-week series called “Flow with your Toddler” that allows mom and toddler to breathe, stretch, and work out together. The classes are run by another local mom, Eszter Boross. In her words, “I design the well paced yoga classes in a way that it is easy to exit and to reenter the flow. Moms (or Dads) are invited to do as much yoga as they can — spiced up with the presence and often participation of their toddlers. It is yoga, fun and bonding!” New students — use code ‘HOBOKENGIRL’ for a 5-class pack for $59.

Hoboken Fit Squad {1200 Washington Street}

Run by a local Hoboken mom, the classes at Hoboken Fit Squad allow you to bring your child regardless of age or workout level. They can participate with mommy or play on their own. Either way, the classes are wonderful and everyone is supportive of the little ones running around. They have both Yoga and Bootcamp classes, depending on your preference.

Local Barre {1180 Maxwell Lane + 720 Monroe Street}

Local Barre actually gives you both options, based on your child’s age. For the newbie barre members {with babies 6 months and under}, they can attend a BYOBaby class with mommy while sitting in their car seat or laying on a mat.

Zap Fitness

Local Barre offers Monkey Barre {$5} where your child is watched by a member of the LB staff. The room is packed with games, books, and toys to keep them entertained. They have multiple class times throughout the week and is a great way to get a workout in with your kiddie not too far away.

For cycle lovers, Prime Cycle downtown offers childcare multiple days/times a week. Prime Cycle also offers yoga for kids. They have a drop off option for the older kids {ages 4-7} or Family Yoga for all ages where the adult gets to participate in the fun. These classes are taught by local mama Niki Poveromo which makes it even better because she’s awesome with the kids.

Work it Out {603 Willow Avenue + 5 Marine View Plaza}

This gym, geared exclusively for women, has two options based on your child’s age. You can wear/bring your babe for a Bite-Sized Barre class up until age 2 {cutest class name!}. They also have a drop off option at both locations called Kids Gap, which is hosted at the same time as mommy’s class, where they’ll engage the children in age appropriate activities, crafts, and games. New clients — use code ‘HGDeal’ to get one month of Work It Out for $79.

Mimi Yoga {1200 Park Avenue}

Mimi Yoga has officially merged with Honor Yoga at the Monroe Center. They will be continuing their kids program with 3 classes for different age groups.
