Sweetgreen Opens on Washington Street in Hoboken

Washington Street in Hoboken has seen its share of businesses over the years, with new spots consistently opening while others close their doors for good. As of August 26th, 2025, a new salad chain has made its way to this Mile Square street. Signage for Sweetgreen was first spotted in April 2025, and now, just a few months later, the franchise has opened in the former Drybar space at 218 Washington Street. The Details

The Washington, D.C.-based salad chain, with locations throughout the Tri-State area, has officially opened its doors on Washington Street, marking Sweetgreen’s second outpost in Hudson County — the first opened in Jersey City in August 2020. This was the Garden State’s first location.

At this spot, Hoboken diners can find a variety of healthy options, including salads and bowls. The menu features dishes like the Chicken Pesto Parm Bowl (roasted chicken, spicy broccoli, tomatoes, shaved parmesan, za’atar breadcrumbs, warm quinoa, baby spinach, Sweetgreen hot sauce, and pesto vinaigrette); the Guacamole Greens Salad (roasted chicken, avocado, tomatoes, red onions, shredded cabbage, tortilla chips, spring mix, chopped romaine, lime squeeze, and lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette); and the Garden Cobb salad (avocado, hard-boiled egg, roasted sweet potatoes, tomatoes, red onions, blue cheese, roasted almonds, spring mix, chopped romaine, and balsamic vinaigrette).

Sweetgreen’s Mile Square location now operates alongside other salad spots on Washington Street, including the Hoboken-born Alfalfa, located at 1110 Washington Street and at 92 Bloomfield Street, Just Salad at 114 Washington Street, and Honeygrow at 120 Washington Street.
