About Pizzeria on Pine

On July 27th, 2025, owners and husband-and-wife duo Kirsti and Andrew Brown took to Instagram to announce the soon-to-arrive Pizzeria on Pine. Planning for a September opening, this new restaurant will be located in Sam A.M. ‘s former Bergen-Lafayette storefront at 196 Pine Street. This was the cafe’s second outpost, and it closed in 2019, according to Jersey Digs. The forthcoming pizza spot announced via Instagram stories this week that it will soft open on Thursday, September 11th at 11AM.

Kirsti and Andrew shared with The Hoboken Girl that Pizzeria on Pine will serve as a nod to NYC-style pizza and the Jersey City community. “The Pizzeria on Pine was born from two places we love: New York and Jersey City,” the two said. “With deep roots in the classic New York slice and a homegrown connection to the Jersey City community, our restaurant brings together the best of both sides of the river. ”

Upon opening, Jersey City pizza lovers can enjoy a menu featuring pies made with fermented dough, seasonal specials made with locally produced ingredients, and heroes filled with fresh-grated cheese and in-house-made sauce. According to Kirsti and Andrew, the pizza dough at Pizzeria on Pine will be made with only flour, water, yeast, salt, sugar, and olive oil – no bleach or bromates, “just real-deal American-grown flour and a long nap in the fridge for that perfect fold, chew, and crunch.”

The entire kitchen will also be nut-free, and the restaurant promises plenty of vegan and gluten-free options for its customers with dietary restrictions.

The Station Hoboken

“This is a place where regulars feel like family, first-timers feel like they’ve found something special, and every bite brings you a little closer to the kitchen,” Kirsti and Andrew said. “Whether you’re here for a quick slice or a long meal, we’re proud to serve you in the city we now call home.”
