In March of 2022, the team behind Dozzino, a popular pizzeria in Hoboken, grew its stamp in town with a third food venture called ‘Number Eleven Food Store.’ The concept specializes in Asian-inspired cuisine and was first launched as a pop-up inside Dozzino. The team eventually expanded to a traditional storefront at the former 7 Stars Pizzeria building on Garden Street. In November 2023, though, the team announced that they wouldn’t be renewing the Garden Street lease, instead returning to Number Eleven’s roots as a pop-up in Dozzino. After a brief hiatus, an Instagram post in May 2024 teased that the pop-up would soon be returning — and now we know that Number 11 Food Store will host a pop-up this weekend at Dozzino, as well as another on Monday, November 11th at The Alps in Jersey City. Pop-Up Details
Number 11 Food Store announced via Instagram on Thursday, November 7th that it would be hosting two upcoming pop-ups in Hoboken and Jersey City. The first pop-up will be at Dozzino — located at 534 Adams Street — from Friday, November 8th through Sunday, November 10th. The pop-up will run from 5PM-10PM each night and costs $50 per person for a set eight-dish meal. The team told The Hoboken Girl that the food “will lean towards our original concept of Chinese American food if it was made in an Italian restaurant.” Menu items will include bok choy Ceasar salad, mapo bolognese, and Sichuan country chicken cutlets, among other options. Reservations are required — you can make one for Friday here, Saturday here, and Sunday here.
The next pop-up will take place on Monday, November 11th at The Alps, located at 351 Palisade Avenue in Jersey City Heights. Locals can shop for vegetarian and seafood items from 5PM until they sell out. Reservations are not needed for the Heights pop-up.

The Storefront Closure
On Tuesday, November 28th, 2023 Number Eleven Food Store took to Instagram with “good news and bad news.” The post read: “We have decided not to renew our lease and this will be our final week at 342 Garden Street, with the last day being Friday.” The post went on to assure Hoboken locals that the Asian eatery wouldn’t be closing for good: “… we will be returning to Dozzino at 534 Adams Street, operating as a pop-up on Mondays and Tuesdays, and you can continue to place takeaway orders through our website while we search for a new space.” See the full post below.

The new pop-up initially launched at Dozzino in December 2023, but in April 2024, temporarily paused again in light of “exciting things coming to Dozzino,” per Instagram. Subsequent posts indicated that the pop-up might of been relocating, but the Number Eleven team confirmed with HG on May 30th that Dozzino remains its home, and that the pop-up would be restarting soon.
About Number Eleven Food Store
The restaurant’s name comes from a successful pop-up at Dozzino, among other locations a few years back. The pop-ups provided samples of current Number Eleven menu items. The team describes the cuisine as “Good food that looks Chinese,” as seen in the restaurant’s Instagram bio.

If you’re wondering why it’s called Number Eleven Food Store, there are only eleven menu items (clever, if we may say so). In the past, this no-frills restaurant boasted dishes like Drunken Noodles, potstickers, Ma and Pa Lumpia, and pepperoni fried rice.
