In March of 2022, the team behind Dozzino, a popular pizzeria in Hoboken, grew its stamp in town with a third food venture called ‘Number Eleven Food Store.’ The concept specializes in Asian-inspired cuisine and currently operates out of the former 7 Stars Pizzeria building at 342 Garden Street. On November 28th, 2023, Number Eleven Food Store announced via Instagram that it won’t be renewing its Garden Street lease, and while the team searches for a new location, will operate as a pop-up in Dozzino on Mondays and Tuesdays starting on December 11th. What We Know

On Tuesday, November 28th, Number Eleven Food Store took to Instagram with “good news and bad news.” The post read: “We have decided not to renew our lease and this will be our final week at 342 Garden Street, with the last day being Friday.” The post went on to assure Hoboken locals that the Asian eatery wouldn’t be closing for good: “… we will be returning to Dozzino at 534 Adams Street, operating as a pop-up on Mondays and Tuesdays, and you can continue to place takeaway orders through our website while we search for a new space.” See the full post below.

The new pop-up is set to launch at Dozzino on Monday, December 11th. The team shared with HG that it will be a “full-on sit-down pop-up, with a new menu that’s a little more catered towards that.” Rest assured, though, the team also confirmed that “some of the favorites will still be on the menu.”

We got word that 7 Stars closed its doors for good in 2020 in the full swing of the COVID-19 pandemic. The longstanding pizzeria nestled on the corner of Garden Street was popular amongst Church Square Park visitors, students from the surrounding schools, and nearby residents.

The restaurant’s name comes from a successful pop-up at Dozzino, among other locations a few years back. The pop-ups offered samples of current Number Eleven menu items. The team describes the cuisine as “Good food that looks Chinese,” as seen in the restaurant’s Instagram bio.

If you’re wondering why it’s called Number Eleven Food Store, there are only eleven menu items (clever, if we may say so). The no-frills restaurant boasts dishes like Drunken Noodles, Potstickers, Ma and Pa Lumpia, and Pepperoni Fried Rice. View the full list online here.
