For Amy and Mike, love was literally around the corner —or more specifically, in their shared company gym. What was a quick workout turned into a budding romance, and eventually led to the pair saying “I do” with city views, and a cozy, intimate party at their favorite local wine bar in the Mile Square. Find out how Hoboken served as the backdrop to their adorable romance and more about their wedding at Pier 12 and Sorellina. Here’s a glimpse into Amy and Mike’s big day:

How They Met
Squeezing in a workout in the middle of the day isn’t how many of us imagine meeting the loves of our lives, but for Amy and Mike, that’s exactly what happened. The pair both work for the same company and during a quick trip to the gym during their respective lunch hours, the two met. Fast-forward one and half years later, and Mike was getting ready to propose to Amy. After taking their dog, Wally, to the dog run at Elysian Park, the duo took a seat on a bench overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Mike had made an adorable photo album for his soon-to-be-fiancé of the pair’s travels + memories since they first started dating. Right after Amy finished flipping through the book, Mike got down on one kneed and proposed. Of course, she said…YES. They’ve been together since June 2014.

Making Hoboken Home
Before the two even met, they had moved to Hoboken around the same time and have called the Mile Square home for the last 10 years.
The Ceremony
Amy and Mike said their vows to each other at Pier 12 in Hoboken, followed by a reception at Sorellina.
The two loved living in Hoboken so much that they wanted to share that love with their 60 friends and family in attendance on their special day.
On that day, the two were most excited to see each other for the first time, as Mike hadn’t seen Amy’s dress until their wedding day, and Amy anxiously awaited his reaction. The best part of the day, according to the happy couple, was when they first made their official married-duo appearance at Sorellina.
Walking into the restaurant was like a giant relief for the two, as it was finally time to relax and enjoy celebrating with their family and friends.

Keeping it Local
Amy and Mike tried to use as many local vendors as possible. They got Amy’s bouquet from Hudson Flowers, headed to Ally Bridal for Amy’s dress alterations, and so much more. She also got her spectacular hair and makeup done by Tre Chique, who came to the W Hoboken to help her, her mom, and sister get ready for the big day.
Desserts in a jar from Sugarsuckle {banana pie and coconut cream pie} were served — reminiscent of banana pudding from a previous ski trip that they loved. The pair also used Noelle Soroka Photography to capture every special moment of their big day. She was able to work well with the couple’s dog {who was as at the wedding}.
