There’s a new entrant in the Hoboken pizza wars. Quality Pizza Co., which is coming to 304 Washington Street, has officially put up signage in its storefront windows. The space had previously been home to Rice Shop, an Asian fusion restaurant serving Thai, Cantonese, and Korean dishes, but that restaurant closed in Spring 2022.  Read on for what we know about Quality Pizza Co. coming soon to Hoboken.

The name and mission are simple: to serve only the best. Samuel Mike, the restaurant’s operator, says everything involved in the pizza will be top-of-the-line. “Everything will be delivered fresh,” he said. “The sauce is made from scratch and takes three to four hours. The cheese is the best kind available. Nothing is frozen.”

Samuel, who lives in Jersey City, said that he wanted to bring his years of experience making pizza to Hoboken. “I’ve been making pizza for 14 years at different New York and New Jersey pizzerias,” he said. “I want Quality Pizza Co. to put Hoboken on the map by using our recipes.”

The space has undergone a full renovation since Quality Pizza Co. took over. “It’s a completely different space,” Samuel said. The February 27th water main break in Hoboken delayed several of the final inspections necessary to complete the work and finalize inspections, but the team anticipates opening in mid-March.

What to Expect

The restaurant will be open seven days a week, opening at 11AM. “On the weekends, we want to do late night and stay open till 3 or 4AM,” Samuel said. The restaurant eventually wants to offer delivery as well.

The menu has classic pizzas, Sicilian pizzas, a gluten-free crust, cauliflower crust, and vegan cheese available. There will also be salads, calzones, appetizers, rolls, and desserts. “Everything will be fresh; made daily,” Samuel said. Slices will start at $3.50.

The restaurant plans to offer catering as well. Some of the appetizers include things like mozzarella sticks and chicken wings, excellent choices for a game night watch party.
