In light of recent events, it might be tough to think about where you’re going to get the things you need — namely, where you’re going to get your groceries without physically going to a grocery store. Even with the allowance of going to the grocery store at this time, many can’t go for health reasons or being part of a vulnerable population. But, thankfully, there are plenty of local options — available year-round — that allow you to get your groceries delivered right to your door. Check out our list of grocery delivery apps and local options below.

*Please note, subject to availability and circumstances — as some may no longer be offering delivery, this is just to the best of our most up-to-date research, surrounding COVID-19 situation updates. For the latest in Hoboken + Jersey City, click here for our daily report.

Organic Basic Food with Mercato

Organic Basic Food has options, like protein powder and other goods, that you can order straight from the website, but if you’re looking for a more comprehensive shop, you can order many of the store’s goods, from grape tomatoes and soup mixes to prenatal vitamins and Emergen-C, through Mercato. Stay healthy and have everything you need delivered right to your door. And, right now, users can sign up and get a membership for 14 days free.

Stop & Shop Jersey City with Peapod

For those who plan ahead, Stop & Shop also has a delivery service through Peapod, which allows users to explore the aisles and select their groceries. There is everything from pizza ingredients to seafood available on the website, and Peapod delivers to all of Jersey City and Hoboken. The catch, though, is that things are taking a little longer to deliver right now but, if you plan ahead, it’s still a great service to use.

ShopRite from Home {Hoboken/Jersey City}

Both the ShopRite of Hoboken and ShopRite of Metro Plaza offer ShopRite from Home, a service that allows users to shop online and then have the goods delivered to their home at a selected time slot, approved by the shopper and the store. There are a few catches, though — someone aged 18 or older must be present to accept the delivery, and you must have a Price Plus Club Card {don’t worry, it’s free} to reserve a delivery time slot. But, if you’ve got all of that down, ShopRite will bring you your groceries.

FreshDirect

Shop everything you need on FreshDirect, with a minimum order of $30 and a $6.99 delivery fee. You can pick up organic and kosher goods, wines and spirits, and even party platters through the online-only service. FreshDirect delivers to all parts of Jersey City and Hoboken but requires that users select a delivery time slot when placing an order. An added bonus is that the company partners with NY Common Pantry, so you can donate to those in need and make sure they are fed, too.

Key Food Fresh & Natural with Delivery.com

For things like cases of water, fresh meats, frozen foods, and dairy products look no further than Key Food Fresh & Natural. People within the store’s delivery zone {the brick and mortar address is 574 Jersey Avenue, Jersey City} can take advantage of their delivery option through Delivery.com, where shoppers can schedule an order and have it arrive roughly three hours later.

Acme Hoboken and Jersey City with InstaCart

Similar to Organic Basic Food, you can order from Acme through InstaCart, and have your groceries delivered to you within the hour, or you can schedule them to be dropped off at your door at a convenient time. It’s $5.99 per delivery, and there are plenty of coupons to take advantage of as well. You can pick a day and a time, pick your items, and not worry about anything except staying healthy.

Big Apple Grocer

For deliveries in the Hoboken area, Big Apple Grocer can deliver everything from a Keurig to baby goods. The service also offers the option to buy bulk goods, or order regularly sized packages of the necessities alongside your sweet treats. Delivery prices vary depending on the cost of the order, but orders over $150 come with free delivery. If you’re in Jersey City, though, call Big City Grocer to make sure they can deliver to you before placing your order.

Kings Food Markets with InstaCart

 If you need your gourmet goods fix, Kings Food Markets also offers delivery through InstaCart. Grab pre-made deli goods, meat, seafood, and more, and have it all dropped off at your doorstep in an hour or less. Ordering online doesn’t mean you have to skip out on bread + spreads, Reuben sandwiches, and beef brisket — you can grab them all online from Kings’ uptown or downtown locations in the area.
