Genus Boni | 432 Main Street, Metuchen
Genus Boni is a cozy space filled with books, games, puzzles, Legos, arts and crafts, and musical toys for all ages. A small play area is dedicated to the kids while the shopping is completed. There is also a tea station with several teas to be enjoyed while perusing and an area in the back to relax. The in-store selection of toys is enough to get everything on the wishlist, but the website has many more categories and age groups if it isn’t. Store hours are Monday – Tuesday from 3PM-7PM, and Wednesday – Sunday from 11AM-7PM.

The Grow-cery Ltd | 190 Rock Road, Glen Rock
The Grow-cery is a charming toy store and gift shop for kids in Glen Rock. It’s a favorite among locals and conveniently situated right on the town’s main strip. The store hours here are Monday – Saturday from 10AM-5PM.
Hazel Baby + Kids | 199 Montgomery Street, Jersey City
Hazel Baby + Kids is all about sustainability while selling unique and thoughtful gifts for all new parents and families. Its homelike and nurturing design beautifully displays all the baby clothes, toys, and accessories. Watchung Booksellers: The Kids’ Room | 44 Fairfield Street, Montclair
Watchung Booksellers: The Kids’ Room is a delightful and intimate shop with books for little ones and toddlers. It has a small reading area to read the entire book or just the first page and some small toys to keep the smaller kids occupied while reading or shopping. Computers 4 People | 321 Newark Street #32, Hoboken
Computers 4 People, started by teenager Dylan Zajac, is dedicated to collecting + refurbishing technology to distribute to individuals + groups in need. Computers 4 People will accept items such as old desktop computers, laptops, hard drives, tablets, keyboards, monitors, + more. The organization also accepts monetary donations. Additionally, if volunteers have experience in refurbishing computers or can store items, help in those areas is needed. Learn more here.
Family Promise of Hudson County | Jersey City
Promise addresses homelessness by using the resources of volunteer congregations in Hoboken + Jersey City by providing space in their buildings to serve as temporary homes for homeless families. Each Family Promise affiliate also has a day center, where families can take showers, receive case management, and look for housing and jobs. Family Promise relies on volunteers to give their time, making meals, sharing hospitality, spending the night, playing with children, and lending their passion and expertise to help families get back on their feet. The Hoboken Shelter | 300 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken
The Hoboken Shelter hosts 50 guests nightly + serves more than 1,000 meals throughout the week. As a full-service community partner, the Hoboken Shelter is a necessary resource within the neighborhood. The Shelter is always in need of donations + support to help keep its doors open and welcoming to its guests. Learn more here.
