Unique Boutique: Washington General {But Far From It} Store

Written by:

As sad as we were to see Iconic Fashion Lounge go, it’s great to see something fresh and fun take its place. That fun place is called Washington General Store, and it’s a gift and specialty shop filled with not-just-your-average knick knacks and gifts. In two words: totally obsessed.

When you enter the shop, depending on the month, you’ll find a different array of goodies based on the upcoming holidays approaching. During a summer visit, there was an array of 4th of July {ugh, so sad that it seems so far away at this point} memorabilia and goodies for the barbecue-loving, party-planning, summer-obsessed friend or relative that you know we all have. Now it’s leaning more towards fall, which would be great if the weather would also cooperate.

A beautiful spread of gifts!

Upon taking a look around, you can see that there is easily something for everyone. From wine accessories to skin care to necklaces to baby shower decor to cheeky happy birthday cards to picnic supplies…it’s all here. I guess it’s a bit more general than I thought…but definitely “general” with a whimsical, chic twist. You won’t have to be traveling out of Hoboken to shop for gifts now, that’s for sure.

It was truly hard to narrow down what to showcase in this post because there were too many things I loved, so I’ll leave you with a few of my favorite things I discovered when there last {but mind you, it was INCREDIBLY tough to narrow this down!}:

THESE grapefruit bowls. I mean, seriously.

No caption needed. Amazing.

I actually ended up buying these for a friend when I gave her a housewarming gift basket of wine + accessories. Plus, I’m thinking of buying them for all of my friends when we go wine tasting soon!

Picnic basket…and ya know, clocks.

Obviously loved these magnets. For all those friends who exited to the ‘burbs {and miss Hoboken desperately}, perfect housewarming gift topper.

Fair trade, weave scarves.

Wall de vino gifts. Perfect for housewarmings! And just regular days, too 🙂

Word on the street {aka their Facebook page} is that the owner just put out some Owen & Fred Bags which are the perfect gift for the traveling man…plus a bunch of other men’s items. This store truly has a little something for everyone…especially for the hostess in your life. I’ll definitely be back soon…most likely to pick up more wine wipes and hang with the store puppy named Georgia!

Have you been to the Washington General Store? What did you think?
