It’s officially Aries season. This fiery, go-getter of a season, denoted by the Ram, lasts between March 20th and April 19th and is super creative and spunky. Aries are known to be motivated, highly creative, and unable to back down, and this tough as nails energy gets showered over us all astro-month long. Aries in the Zodiac
Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and governs the house of the self. Ruling individuality and your personal definition, Aries energy is opinionated and independent, and generally has a personal brand locked down. The creative spark of lighting the first match is synonymous with Aries energy and is palpable when you meet anyone with heavy placements of this sign in their chart.
The element of Aries is Fire, which is masculine, unpredictable, and energetic. As easily as fire can create, it can destroy by the masses. And because Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of aggression, don’t ever cross an Aries unless you’re ready for some serious wrath. But again, just as the potential for destruction is great, the ability for passion, inspiration, and creation holds just as high.

Another detail of Aries is that they have a “cardinal” quality. Of the three qualities {the other two being fixed and mutable}, cardinal denotes initiation. As they begin the seasons, in Aries case, not only spring but the entire zodiac wheel, they are the way-pavers. Because they are the first sign, the beginning of the zodiac, they open the show.
In the Tarot deck, Aries’ ruling card is the Emperor. This card is the ultimate male energy, think Mufasa from Lion King, presiding over his dominion. The feeling around this card is responsible, regal, and authoritative. For Aries, we must remember to not bring that energy into darkness like a tyrant.
Some celebs that you may or may not have known were Aries are clearly motivated, creative, and all-around bosses. Elton John, for example, has a style that is all his own and is not only an LGBTQ icon but a living legend in general. Following suit, Lady Gaga {who’s close to an EGOT} is a pure boss in her music. She consistently reinvents herself, a very cardinal move, and worked herself into an injury as discussed in her documentary, Five Foot Two. And another kick-butt Aries is Mariah Carey, whose self-confidence is unparalleled.
What Aries Season Means for You
Well, at first it may feel a little foggy, due to Mercury Retrograde in Pisces lasting until March 27th. However, once Mercury stations direct on the 28th, you can expect some serious Ram energy in the air. You might feel more motivated than usual and there’s a bit more aggression in the air. It can feel very direct to certain signs, especially water signs, so make sure your emotional boundaries are tight so as not to get your feelings hurt.
