Back in March 2020, we got word that the W Hotel in Hoboken was about to get all the more luxurious, as the Woodhouse Day Spa was moving into the River Street hotel’s amenity space at 225 River Street — where the former Bliss Spa was located. In February 2021, the owner of Woodhouse Day Spa posted a Youtube video with updates on the construction, stating that it will be opening very soon. Finally, on July 30th, Woodhouse Day Spa is officially open. Read on for what to expect at the Woodhouse Day Spa Hoboken.
A Brief History
You may recall that Bliss Spa closed its doors back in November 2019 after several years of operating out of The W. hotel. Associate broker Blake Shanaphy of Jones Lang LaSalle real estate made the announcement back in March of 2020 on LinkedIn. Shanaphy wrote, “The Woodhouse Day Spa has committed to a long-term deal with my clients at Ironstate Development Company and will join our W Hotel amenity space, formerly the ‘Bliss Spa’ located at 225 River Street, as the new replacement spa tenant for the W project.”
The amenity space at the W Hotel had been vacant for over a year since Bliss Spa closed, but before Woodhouse was able to open its doors, it underwent a full renovation.

Shanaphy added back in March 2020, “Woodhouse plans to open for business after a brief rebranding of the two-level 6,000 [square foot] space, serving both the W’s guests and the general public looking to schedule an appointment.” The deal was in collaboration with the W Hotel, Newmark Knight Frank, and Ironstate Development Company.
In February 2021, the owner of Woodhouse Spa posted a youtube video stating, “I’m so excited with the progress. Please stay tuned for the opening announcement, we will be opening very soon.” She also stated that they are hiring. The video takes us on a tour of the new spa inside the W hotel. There will be locker rooms for men and women, facial and massage treatments rooms, as well as carry high-end skincare and wellness products.
The official opening date of the spa was July 30th.

Guests of the spa can choose from several facials including The Woodhoue Signature Minjyti that combines organic seaweed and massage techniques that offers deep hydration, relaxation, and nourishment; the Refining Acne Facial that’s a deep-cleansing and extraction-based treatment; the Seaweed Marine Eye Compress Treatment that uses seaweed and hydrotherapy compresses with the whole body to establish balance.
