It seems that Timothée Chalamet can’t get enough of Hudson County. After being spotted in Jersey City twice over two weeks, the Wonka and Dune: Part II star has ventured to the Mile Square to continue filming his upcoming movie A Complete Unknown. The project — a Bob Dylan biopic following the singer’s life in the ’60s — is slated to film at Moran’s on April 11th and Church Square Park on April 12th. There haven’t been any Timmy sightings yet, but crews are already outside Morans constructing vintage bar signage and other props. Filming in Hoboken

On Wednesday, April 10th, The Hoboken Girl received numerous reader inquiries regarding film crews at Moran’s, an Irish pub in midtown Hoboken. While details were limited, the bar confirmed with HG that something was filming, but couldn’t disclose what that something was.

In terms of celebrity gossip, the cat seldom stays in the bag — especially when said cat is an A-List celebrity portraying a folk music legend and Rock Hall of Famer. On April 10th, NJ.com reported A Complete Unknown is slated to film at Church Square Park on Friday, April 12th, confirmed by a location assistant for the film.

Today, April 11th, a Hoboken Girl reader shared that the movie filming at Moran’s is, in fact, A Complete Unknown. Members of the production team confirmed this with the reader on their morning coffee run. See the messages below.

As of this reporting, crews are currently setting up at Moran’s, constructing faux vintage signage that reads “bar.” Presumably, they’re reimagining Moran’s to appear like the type of joint a rising musician might’ve frequented in the ’60s.

Other Hudson County Sightings

On Monday, March 25th, an eagle-eyed Hoboken Girl reader spotted what looked like a film crew at Jersey City’s Miss America Diner — an old-school spot serving classic NJ diner fare at 322 West Side Avenue. A member of the on-site film crew confirmed that the project is A Complete Unknown, the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet.

Per NJ.com, the crew had two late-night shoots at Miss America on March 25th and 26th, before embarking on a Tour De Jersey City Diner. Just last week, A Complete Unknown spent a few days filming at White Mana Diner. Per Slice of Culture, the famed burger joint on Tonelle Avenue was closed through April 4th for filming.

About A Complete Unknown

A Complete Unknown was originally slated to begin filming last year, but production was halted due to the Screen Actors Guild strike, according to NJ.com. Per Deadline, the movie is set in “the influential New York music scene of the early ’60s” and follows “19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts.” The title refers to Bob Dylan’s hit “Like a Rolling Stone,” in which he sings: “How does it feel, how does it feel/To be without a home, like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone?”

Timothée Chalamet, who made recent headlines for his roles in Dune: Part II and Wonka, is portraying Bob Dylan. Following the purple valor suit of his Willy Wonka portrayal, Chalamet is billed for several musical performances in A Complete Unknown, according to NJ.com.
