The green trend seems to be prevalent in every industry, from food, clothing, and skincare to makeup, nails, and hair care. Many spas and salons are now applying green practices in everything they do and are offering organic and plant-based products for their customers. The Salon at Hoboken is the Mile Square’s newest clean beauty hair salon, located on the ground level of the 600 Harrison Apartments. Read on to learn more about this modern concept hair studio, The Salon At Hoboken.

The Background

The owner of the salon, Ariella Mendez, has been a stylist for over 18 years and has been bringing her passion for hair to Hoboken for almost four years. Both Ariella and her husband, Giovanni, have educated salon accounts internationally for Redkin for over 20 years.

“We immediately fell in love with the residents of Hoboken and felt it would be a perfect match to bring together our love for our craft and our love for the city,” Ariella explains. “We wanted to merge our quality of service and attention to detail with our years of experience.”

Ariella works in the salon full-time, while Giovanni offers partial days, working as an editorial stylist, traveling, and running his own company {Tearsheet} while he is not in the salon. Their goal is to grow their own brand of professional hairstylists and service providers while taking a more green approach to beauty and self-care

The Salon at Hoboken will offer haircuts, styling, color, balayage, waxing, and facial services. Their facial services, starting December 1st, will be performed by local esthetician Rosalia Fiske from @skinbyrosalia. Mendez couldn’t give Rosalia enough praise for her work. “I never liked facials until I got one from Rosalia, she’s amazing,” Mendez explains.

Pricing for services ranges from $90+ for a women’s haircut and $50+ for a men’s haircut to color ranging from $85+ to $300+ for a full head of balayage highlights. Waxing including eyebrows and lips ranges from $10-$20, and they also offer eyebrow tinting and Brazilian and bikini waxes by Rosalia. For facials, a custom is $100 for 50 minutes, $150 for microdermabrasion, and $175 for a purifying facial.
