A new bagel shop has recently opened its doors in Jersey City. This newcomer is not a typical breakfast spot: it’s a 24-hour New York-style pizza and bagel restaurant. The Pizza + Bagel Concept
While neighbors may be familiar with Park Avenue Pizza at the same location, 3315 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, and Park Avenue Bagels in Weehawken, this spot is a new venture. The story behind the concept is that the former restaurant, Park Avenue Pizza, was an eatery that served both pizza and Mediterranean cuisine. The new owners have added bagels to the menu and expanded the operating hours to be round-the-clock.

The eatery’s New York-style bagels and pizza are made in-house to ensure the dough’s dense and chewy texture. The menu features a variety of classic bagels ranging from plain to cinnamon raisin, as well as toppings like several cream cheeses, breakfast sandwiches, and cold cuts depending on customer preference. The pizza menu features classic and Sicilian pies ranging from margarita, chicken caesar, and pepperoni to name a few.
Aside from pizza and bagels, the menu features a touch of Mediterranean influence. Mediterranean options include halal meats and gyros such as lamb gyro, falafel gyro, chicken gyro, and a fish gyro, as well as Mediterranean-style platters such as Chalpi kabab over rice and a combo over rice with lamb, beef, and chicken. Vegan options are also available, however, there are no gluten-free options.
The concept of the eatery is to sit down and enjoy a meal at any time of the day — whether for breakfast, dinner, or something in between. Breakfast is available between 6AM-3PM while the bagels are served all day long. Since no late-night spot is complete without a selection of sweets, the dessert menu includes tiramisu, cheesecake, red velvet cake, zeppole, and chocolate mousse cake.

The inspiration behind this pizza and bagel concept stems from the desire to break away from the traditional bagel concept. The owners Zee Shan and Anna, driven by a passion for diverse and authentic culinary experiences, envisioned a space where locals could indulge in the timeless New York-style bagels while savoring the rich flavors of authentic pizza. The round-the-clock operation reflects a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of Jersey City’s dynamic community, allowing customers to enjoy their favorite bites whenever the craving strikes.
