Some people see skyline views on the Hoboken waterfront. Others see two-fifths of NSYNC dancing by the Hudson. Hoboken got a surprise dose of early-2000s pop royalty on Saturday, May 16th, when NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and Lance Bass were spotted dancing along the Hudson River. Yes, in Hoboken. Yes, really. Read on for what we know about Joey Fatone + Lance Bass’ Hoboken waterfront sighting.
NSYNC Members Joey Fatone + Lance Bass Spotted in Hoboken
In case you missed the very unexpected local crossover event, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass, beloved NSYNC bandmates and longtime friends, were spotted in Hoboken over the weekend dancing along the waterfront. The duo appeared to be enjoying the Mile Square views while casually giving locals a surprise dose of boy band nostalgia.

See the video below because no, we are not kidding.
Naturally, the comment section quickly filled up with Hoboken locals reacting in real time. Plenty of people chimed in to say hello, share their surprise, + collectively process the fact that Joey Fatone and Lance Bass were just casually dancing in town. One comment in particular caught our eye: Lance Bass himself asked, “Are we moving to Hoboken?” So, of course, we at The Hoboken Girl needed to do some investigating.
Why Were Joey Fatone + Lance Bass in Hoboken?
We did a little digging because if Hoboken is about to gain two new neighbors from NSYNC, this is absolutely the information we need to know. One possible explanation for the Hoboken waterfront sighting is the duo’s upcoming hosting gig. Joey Fatone and Lance Bass are set to host Cocktail Wars, a new Versant-owned mixology competition series. They also dined at Sushi By Bou while they were here, a good choice, we may add.

The series will feature the former NSYNC members teaming up to judge bartenders as they battle it out for $10,000 per episode. The 10-part competition will spotlight mixologists as they compete on flavor combinations, technique, and overall cocktail-making skills, alongside a rotating lineup of celebrity guests and an expert judge. The show is expected to film in the New York metropolitan area, which could explain why Joey and Lance were seen hanging out in Hoboken.
This Isn’t Hoboken’s First NSYNC Moment
And just to be clear, this is not Hoboken’s first run-in with NSYNC band members. On October 5th, 2023, Joey Fatone was in Hoboken for a snack-filled tailgate event at Wicked Wolf. The event was hosted by Heluva Good! Dips as part of the brand’s “No Team Required” tailgate food tour. See more about that here.

As for whether Lance Bass and/or Joey Fatone are actually moving to Hoboken, that remains TBD. But we will be keeping an eye on their comments, the waterfront, and Zillow. You know, for journalism.
