Jersey City residents will have yet another reason to visit the stunning waterfront district that is Harborside. Manny’s District Lounge, Harborside’s newest cocktail bar, just celebrated its grand opening on October 18th, inviting family, friends, and media to discover the spectacular space. The new bar and lounge will feature classy cocktails, game tables, leather seating, and VIP lounge areas, perfect for happy hour with coworkers, or an intimate date night. The Background
Piggyback Bar closed on September 30th after two years of servicing Jersey City, but a new bar and lounge has taken its place in the Harborside Atrium, a Mack-Cali Realty property. The Atrium, a waiting area for the transit boats, houses several shops, cafes, and restaurants. Now, Manny’s District Lounge will open this fall, bringing a swanky bar and lounge option for locals to grab drinks after work, or sip on a martini while waiting for the next ferry. The official open date to the public is October 23rd at 4:00PM.

The Vibe
The spacious cocktail lounge is excellent for large groups with its abundance of seating and wide selection of game tables including foosball, ping-pong, and pool.
The space also features an art gallery with paintings for sale if customers are feeling classy. Manny’s provides a great atmosphere for game day with its plethora of TVs and comfy couches. The laid-back set-up and upscale vibe make Manny’s perfect for any occasion. Whether it’s a casual happy hour or one drink that turns into a night on the town, Manny’s can accommodate wherever the night leads.
The Drinks
The cocktail menu consists of signature concoctions that mimic the classics with a twist. Manny’s will also provide beer on tap and a selection of wine. One of the cocktails, A Short Trip To Mexico, is a fun take on a Paloma, made with Mezcal, cinnamon-infused agave, lime juice, and grapefruit soda. The In Transit cocktail is a perfect pick-me-up, made with Stoli Vanilla, Mod Cup Cold Brew, Kahlua, and vanilla simple syrup.

The Details
Manny’s is located in the Harborside Atrium at 210 Hudson Street in Jersey City, next to District Kitchen food marketplace. Manny’s does not have a website or Instagram yet, but be sure to check out harborsidejc.com for the latest news on the impressive waterfront district.

There’s a Chicken Wing Contest for Charity Coming to Hoboken on 2/1
After a five-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Hoboken's chicken wing contest is making a return in 2025. Hosted by St. Francis Church and benefitting Fr. Michael Food Pantry, 11 restaurants from around the Mile Square (and one in Jersey City) will compete for the title of "King of Wings." The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st from 6PM-10PM at the Hoboken Elks Club, located at 1005 Washington Street. Event Details
A Wing + A Prayer — a popular Hoboken event that was last held in February of 2020 — will make its return to the Mile Square on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, with proceeds benefiting the Fr. Michael Food Pantry at St. Francis Church. Per a press release, the event will be held from 6PM to 10PM at the Hoboken Elks Club, located at 1005 Washington Street.

So, how does the event work? Eleven restaurants from around Hoboken and Jersey City will be showcasing their chicken wings in a people's choice competition to crown the "best wings in Hoboken." The participating restaurants are as follows:

- Bin 14 | 1314 Washington Street
- Carpe Diem | 1406 Grand Street
- Dark Side of the Moo | 52 Bowers Street, Jersey City
- Farside Tavern | 531 Washington Street
- Ferryman on First | 94 Bloomfield Street
- GTK | 1014 Washington Street
- Johnny Pepperoni | 219 11th Street
- Madd Hatter | 221 Washington Street
- Madison Bar + Grill | 1316 Washington Street
- Tony Boloney’s | 263 1st Street
Those in attendance will vote for their favorite wings, and the winning restaurant gets to take home the trophy to be held at their restaurant until the next event.
The organizers shared with The Hoboken Girl that the pantry provides monthly groceries to families in need, and that the proceeds from this event will help bring back the daily sandwich program.
