The Story of Two-Twenty-Three

Two Twenty-Three is an activewear brand built for women looking to build confidence in their everyday lives, from workouts to coffee runs and everything in between, according to its website.

The brand launched its online store and brick-and-mortar location in May 2024, founded by local resident Laura Cook Martinez. The name reflects two defining days in her life: the days she became a parent. Those moments reshaped how she views time, wellness, and self-expression, ultimately inspiring the creation of the business.

“Two Twenty-Three represents growth, balance, and the confidence that comes from knowing who you are becoming… “We believe style should move with you, not define you. It should feel effortless, versatile, and personal,” the website states.

Two Twenty-Three announced the closing of its storefront in an Instagram post on June 12th on @twotwentythree_active.

The caption reads, “Over the years, this space became so much more than a store. It became a place for connection, conversation, events, and community. I have met the most incredible people, built lasting relationships, and created memories I’ll carry with me long after these doors close…While this storefront chapter is coming to a close, the story of Two Twenty-Three is far from over.”

Laura told HG that while this has been a difficult decision, it’s not the end. Two Twenty-Three will remain online here and she is actively exploring pop-ups, events, and other locations to stay connected to the community.
