A brand new restaurant called Latin Rotisserie will be opening soon on Washington Street in Hoboken.

Located at 121 Washington Street, Latin Rotisserie currently has a large “Coming Soon” sign displayed on its window. It will be operating from the same spot where Charrito’s Downtown was located for 17 years until it closed its doors in June 2019. Charrito’s Midtown, located at 518 Washington Street, still remains open.

While not much is known as far as menu items, Hoboken Girl received word that it’s owned by the same owner as the restaurant next door, Empanadas Café. If the menu stays true to the words ‘Latin Rotisserie,’ then we’re expecting a restaurant that focuses on roasted and barbecued meats — but TBD.

Empanadas Café, an Argentinian restaurant {the owner hails from Argentina!}, offers various empanadas like spicy chicken, spicy pork and fig, ham and cheese, bacon and egg, spinach, etc. The spot is currently open in the morning for a breakfast fix and closes late at night.

While the pandemic has caused much upheaval in the small business world, it’s promising to see local and national spots opening soon. Lately, the number of coming soon signs has been on the rise.

Taco Bell {located at 38 Hudson Place} took over the former Cascade Café location just earlier this month, and Lovesac, a showroom with multiple locations nationwide selling convertible sofas called Sactionals, has recently opened in Hoboken.

On the local front, La Tiendita de Mela Fleurs, owned by local Melissa Diaz, debuted around Thanksgiving and offers gorgeous assortments of hand-tied bouquets, small and large arrangements, wreaths, and floral hoops. Uptown, The Hive, a coffee shop with a retail area and play area owned by two Hoboken moms, also opened in November.

UNJUMBOLD, founded by John Forslund and Michael Knight, opened on December 4th and has a variety of artwork, home furnishings, custom bedding, kitchenware, and candles among other fun knick-knacks for the home.  Finally, The Supper Club Hoboken took over the evenings at bwé kafe uptown as a new dinner spot serving southern food with an emphasis on Mediterranean and Californian cuisine. It opens its doors at 5:00PM daily.
