About the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

For the first time in over 10 years, Macy’s is hosting its annual 4th of July Fireworks over the Hudson River. Previously, the fireworks went off over the East River, making it difficult for Hoboken + Jersey City residents to see. This year,  barges will be lined up between West 14th and 34th Streets, so they’ll be visible along the Hoboken waterfront and parts of the Jersey City waterfront. The fireworks will launch out of five barges, starting at 8PM. Grab your favorite lawn chair, snacks, and your besties, and head to one of these spots for viewing:

Although Hudson County has missed out on the Macy’s Fireworks over the last decade, Jersey City has filled that void with its own firework display and celebration. Jersey City’s fireworks, conducted by Grucci, will launch from two barges in the middle of the Hudson River with a large viewing area at the Exchange Place PATH Plaza. The festivities will run from 12PM to 10PM and include food, drinks, and music from local DJs. Fireworks will begin at 9:30PM. More information about the celebration can be found hereHG pro tip: It’s not as easy to see these fireworks in Hoboken, so going to Jersey City is your best bet!
