The City of Hoboken announced that in collaboration with the Governor’s Office, the New York New Jersey Host Committee, Uber, and Choose New Jersey, it will host a free community lottery giving local youth the chance to attend an upcoming World Cup match. The match, which is on Monday, June 22nd at 8:00 PM, will be between Norway and Senegal at MetLife Stadium. Read on to learn about the Hoboken World Cup youth lottery and how you can register.

The Details + How to Register
On Monday, June 16th, the City of Hoboken announced that it will be holding a free community lottery that will give local youth an opportunity to attend an upcoming World Cup match. The match will be between Norway and Senegal on Monday, June 22nd at 8:00 PM, with the tickets issued in four pairs – with one child and one guardian for each – to give multiple families an opportunity to experience the event.
This lottery is a product of collaboration between the Governor’s Office, New York New Jersey Host Committee, Uber, and Choose New Jersey, who allocated the eight tickets to the Hoboken Recreation Division for the opportunity.
Registration for the lottery can be done through RecDesk for Hoboken children up to 16 years old. To sign up, guardians must upload a picture of their child playing soccer, learning about soccer, or cheering on their favorite soccer player to be entered into the lottery. The winners will be announced at the Hoboken Big Match Block Party on Friday, June 19th, on Grand Street between 14th and 15th Streets. Upon winning the ticket, children must be accompanied by a guardian to the game. Registration closes on Thursday, June 18th, at 5:00 PM.
