About Them

The couple has been together for almost 10 years and are pawrents to their pet, Buddy. They met at work ages ago and it has been happily ever after since. Galya used to live in Brooklyn while Brian always lived in Hoboken. It was not difficult to get her to commit to moving to the Mile Square, as she very quickly fell in love with our little one square mile. They frequent Charrito’s for date nights, Fiore’s for mutz, and Galya always makes sure to pick up fresh flowers from Hudson Flowers. The two have no plans to leave Hoboken as of now, but as many married couples do when little ones come along, the two think that the suburbs will be their next move.

About Their Home

In 2016, Hoboken’s real estate market was at an all-time high. Buyers left and right found themselves in bidding wars and paying above asking price for their homes. Brian and Galya were no different, which is why it took about eight months before they finally found and purchased their home. The two made renovations to their new home, but the renovations were cosmetic and only took a few months to finish the actual work. They contracted out a family friend, so time and budget were on their side to create the home of their dreams.

The Renovation

The apartment was given all new hardwood floors, a fresh coat of paint, and had new lighting installed. The biggest changes were in the bathroom — they put in a double sink which was an absolute must for the couple {and we totally understand why} and all new tile work.

Additionally, the kitchen saw new appliances and cabinets, new lighting, and stunning marble countertops.

 The Furniture + Décor

Now on to the fun part — decorating. The spare bedroom hosts a Raymour & Flanigan daybed + dressers, carpets from Wayfair, and Target pillows.

The dining table and chairs are from CB2, while the rug is from Rugs USA, the light fixture is from Wayfair, and the bar cart is from World Market.

Moving into the living area, the couch is from Ashley Furniture, the rug and coffee table are from Wayfair, the lovely mirror is from Target, and the storage closet is from Ikea with some new knobs to make it look high-end.

The bedroom is a mix of trinkets from their travels and photos of their gorgeous wedding. Galya longs for more closet space, but then again, don’t we all.
