The Hoboken Historical Museum is once again giving locals the opportunity to walk through historic Hoboken homes this October. Whether you are a history buff, architect-lover, or a curious citizen, the Historical Home Tours in Hoboken are a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique, historical homes of the Mile Square. Read on to learn more about the 2025 Historical Home Tours coming to Hoboken, New Jersey on Sunday, October 26th, brought to you by The Hoboken Historical Museum.

About the Tours

This Hoboken Historical Museum tradition seeks to celebrate Hoboken’s legacy and local history through its annual home tours. The museum rotates the homes it showcases in order to highlight different areas of the community.

Previous tours have included restored Victorians, the Yankee Ferry boat, the Chi Phi Fraternity house, and more. It is safe to say the line-up will always be exciting and provide unique experiences for locals. “Each home on the tour offers a distinct charm and story, showcasing a variety of architectural styles that highlight the city’s diverse heritage,” the museum previously shared about the event.

The Hoboken Historical Museum is dedicated to its mission of preserving and protecting the history of Hoboken through archival research, oral histories, and engagement with local residents. Understanding Hoboken’s history locally and its significance nationally is an important practice which the house tours champion. By signing up for the tour, you are supporting the museum and all of its non-profit work in the Mile Square.

 

 

What to Expect

Tickets for the 2025 Historical Home Tours are available on The Hoboken Historical Museum’s website here. The self-guided tour will take place on Sunday, October 26th from 10AM-4PM. Early bird and member tickets are priced at $45, while non-member and day-of tickets cost $55. Attendees will be given a map containing the participating homes and some key features which highlight information about the particular homes and their owner(s).

Check-in is provided at two locations on the day of the event, starting at 9AM. Uptown check-in will be located at the Hoboken Historical Museum (1301 Hudson Street) and the downtown check-in location will be at Boomerang Bites (152 Newark Street). Upon arrival, participants will be given a wristband — no physical ticket is needed, only the reservation name.

Please note that many of the homes are not ADA-accessible, and large bags, strollers, and carriages are not permitted in the homes. Comfortable footwear is strongly encouraged as the tour is a two- to three-hour walking tour, and heels are prohibited in some of the homes.
