Brunch — that glorious time on the weekends to join friends and eat delicious food {+ Hoboken has no shortage of places to enjoy this hybrid meal}. We recently checked out one of the newest brunch spots in town and it did not disappoint. Tosti, located at 1024 Washington Street {the old uptown Charrito’s location}, is the perfect place to dig into traditional breakfast and lunch dishes with an artisan flare. Here’s a bit more about it:
The Atmosphere
If a chill vibe is your speed, Tosti is just the place. The restaurant feels like the corner coffee shop combined with a southern breakfast joint sprinkled with shabby chic décor. The intimate setting is best for catching up with out-of-town friends or a morning date. While it is BYOB, not many guests were knocking back the alcohol, making for a quieter morning. The rustic tables and pastel flowers paired with the buttery biscuits and bright, fruity jam give Tosti true southern vibes.
The Food
Of course, what everyone comes here for. We tried the avocado toast and egg sliders and left planning the next trip back. The avocado was perfectly seasoned and paired nicely with the whole grain toast, topped with a fried egg — with pico de gallo served on the side to round out the dish.

The sliders were the cutest breakfast sandwiches: Placed between 2 mini biscuits were a fried egg, cheddar cheese, and crispy bacon. Tosti’s homemade raspberry jam was served on the side and it was just the sweet note the dish needed to make it complete. The sugary jam with savory bacon and runny egg yolk = taste buds were singing.
While Tosti is mostly known for its incredible brunch, it does have an extensive lunch and dinner menu to keep the noshing going all day long. Other items on the menu include the Build Your Own Omelet, a variety of toasts topped with classic breakfast faves liked smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, hearty brunch plates and a host of breakfast pastries.
The Drinks
Tosti has a large selection of coffees, teas, and lattes to for the morning. The menu includes a list of herbal teas as well as various lattes and warm beverages. In addition to being a restaurant, Tosti truly brings the coffee shop feels for those who might be on-the-go. Just sit right at its window-side counter for a quick drink and croissant for a speedy snack, counter service pre-bus pickup FTW.
