Let’s face it, we’ve been spending a lot more time at home and lucky for our dwellings, they have been receiving a lot more love and TLC ever since. With all of this time at home, many of us probably have been taking on different home projects from full-on renos to small little décor changes. Thankfully, Hoboken and Jersey City are sprinkled with unique home boutiques with all different types of home decor options. Here are some of the best in town.

This gorgeous clothing boutique is also fully-stocked with quite the selection of home accents — think Assouline coffee table books that are ideal for stacking on a shelf or on a table. For those itching for travel book decor, the Tulum, Capri, Aspen, Palm Beach, and The Big Book of the Hamptons are perfect editions to any house. Originally from Brooklyn now finding a home in Hoboken, Duman Home is a comprehensive home store featuring bedding, towels, decor, kitchen, and bath items. The Turkish towels are our favorites, as are the Downright pillows and down comforters, which are made in Brooklyn. Also available are some of our favorite scents such as the Apotheke diffusers and candles.

So, we are a little obsessed with coffee table books to complement any space, but let’s face it — everyone is! Little City Books has a ton of really beautiful books that look beautiful on display and also make for a great read. These one-of-a-kind finds, such as classic cookbooks, music and art books, celebrity, and history books are an excellent way to easily incorporate some sophisticated looks into the home.

This home décor boutique is filled with uncommon goods that will breathe life into any home. With pillows, accent rugs, lamps, glassware, wall art, and so much more, Luna Rosa is the perfect spot to pick up some conversation pieces that will spark joy — we see you, Marie Kondo — for years to come.

For those with a flair for adventure, The DIY Joint is a spot where you can make your very own pieces. With options for classes to build furniture, cutting boards, signs, benches, and more, this hidden gem is a great place to visit. Of course, it will require a bit of elbow grease but enjoying the fruits of your own labor is definitely fulfilling.

Washington General Store {509 Washington Street}

This store is a popular local spot for everything under the sun. Though it might be tiny, this storefront is filled with homeware treasures. With Paddywax Candles, Mudpie pillows, hand-painted vases, Two’s Company frames, globes, platters, and so much more. The store even features men’s and women’s skincare products, jewelry, and other interesting finds, if you are in need of something beyond home goods. Washington General is now open for in-person shopping.

Inspired by the natural hues of the earth, Wild Homewares pays homage to the beauty of the land with stunning pieces that will add just the right touch to any home. Available at the store is an array of mirrors, throws, vases, plates, silverware, and other delicate decor. This spot is the perfect place to pick up housewarming and hostess gifts for a special friend or family member during the holidays. Wild Homewares is taking clients by appointment only which can be arranged by contacting the store.

If vintage or reupholstered furniture is your thing, be sure to check out Casa Clasen Design. Owner Nina is a self-proclaimed hunter and gatherer of vintage furniture and specializes in upholstery and furniture refurbishing. Her Instagram is filled with refinished and refurbished ottomans, chairs, shelves, and other pieces and is definitely worthy of a visit.
