Fun Baby Shower Tips

Before booking a celebration, check out these few tips to help make it as memorable as possible.

Harborside Sport + Spine
  • Make it a cocktail party or happy hour, rather than a typical brunch setting.
  •  Go co-ed, invite all the friends and family, do some partner games and keep the food and décor neutral.
  • Don’t open gifts at the shower, it takes up a lot of time and the parents might want to open the gifts together in private at home.
  • Consider games that don’t require everyone to participate if they are shy or just want to eat, talk, and drink— things like filling out cards with the names of favorite childhood books to read, music to play to the baby, recommendations for sitters, words-of-wisdom for new parents.
  • Have a candy bar with blue or pink colored candies or another DIY station (cupcake or cookie decorating) that is fun and guests will have a favor to take home.
  • Throw a pamper party – manis, pedis, and massages are a relaxing way to treat the mom or dad-to-be…and the guests…and invite a tarot card reader for extra enjoyment.
  • Consider whether having a sit-down meal or a buffet-style event, too, as some venues will also provide a baby shower cake, so make sure to inquire when booking. Many restaurants also offer off-site catering if the party will be in the comforts of home, the backyard, or a residents lounge.
